matcha-gtk-theme's Issues

Menubar invisible in some Applications

In some applications, the Menubar buttons are invisible.

It seems that the only affected applications are Electron based (but I'm not sure about typora).

Broken boundaries problem

I'm trying to install the matcha themes but I keep getting this problem:
screenshot_2018-05-28_16-37-00
It does not seem to affect any other themes I installed and I have tried updating the gtk engines as you mention in the description.
I'm running XFCE4 with Openbox WM.

Invisible buttons

Hi,

When using the matcha controls, some buttons just disappear from menus. I'm not sure if my system lacks some packages or if it's an actual issue.. Here's an example.

nobutton

Am I the only one who had this problem so far?
Thank you!

(gtk3-widget-factory:6540): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:3409:15: Junk at end of value for padding

The reason is that the rem() is not supported. This error is also in gtk-dark.css.

Problem with Cinnamon 3.4

Hey.
I found a problem with "control elements" in Cinnamon theme (version 3.4.6). Look at screen.
bug

Can you resolve this in future. I like this theme so much, but can't used on Cinnamon. :/

Nemo File Manager primary bar is white.

home_003
It appears that a recent update has broken Nemo and it's fine black primary bar.

Currently using Cinnamon on Fedora 26, though I am not sure that matters.
Thought I would let you know.

Icon Color Inconsistency

On Xubuntu 18.04 with XFCE after the newest update via the PPA the volume icon appears to be not quite white. It's close but it doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the icons in my system tray, it's like a grey colour instead of white.

The same has happened for the back, refresh, options buttons and the titles for a page in Chrome.

Any chance for a fix please devs? And thanks for the awesome work

Openbox themes are not dark

Hi !

I like your themes, nice work! ๐Ÿ‘
However, something is wrong with openbox: dark themes are not dark (I mean the openbox menu).
Please change that.

Regards.

Matcha sliders are wrong color in GNOME 3.30

Sliders are the default adwaita blue when using the theme in GNOME 3.30. Everything else seems to be right.
EDIT: I used the Matcha-dark-sea to take the screenshot, but other variants have the same issue.

Cinnamon window title box spacing

Hi @vinceliuice and thanks for all the great work developing this theme!

As I see, when you work with cinnamon you prefer a label-less windows list, so you probably never saw how ugly it looks with labels. There's no spacing between window icon and window title with your current cinnamon.css.

This little snippet will fix the issue:

.window-list-item-box StLabel {
  padding-left: 5px;
}

Also I'd recommend to change .window-list-item-box font-weight from bold to normal.

.window-list-item-box {
  font-weight: normal;
  ...
}

Just compare this screenshots:

  • before:

  • after:

Can create a pull request if you're interested.

compiz not work properly

I want to use Matcha with Compiz but that is not working correctly as you can see in the screenshot
the window decoration is wrong.
matcha-compiz

Any idea how I can fix that?
I use Mate 1.20 with Antergos Arch Linux.

Dark or light icons

I recently switched to GIT version of the theme in Arch Linux AUR.
The left pane in the file manager has been made dark from light in one of the recent commits.
The issue is that now the Papirus icons are not visible in the left pane (Home and Trash) and address bar. If I switch to icons for dark themes, they are not visible in other windows. This was not a problem initially when the left pane and toolbar were light.

WM icon problems of 3.3

I like this theme. After using the version 3.3, I found a problem of the icons in the window manager.

The first gif shows the problem of gnome-terminal. When mouse is hovering an icon, the corresponding grey icon disappear.
peek 2018-01-20 14-40

The second is for gvim. When the gvim window is put at top, the icons disappear.

To compare, I also upload the correct icons for Nautilus.

Something wrong in Ubuntu 16.04

Sorry to bother.
I try to install matcha theme in my destop.
There's no error occuring during installation process.
However, the result is shown in below.
The left column is not as elegant as the readme show.
Moreover, the rows are too crowded and weird.
matcha

On the contrary,
I also install the original Arc-theme,
and the result is excellent!

Is there something wrong with the installation?
Or does the matcha not support for ubuntu 16.04?

Icon selection color still blue on XFCE desktop icons (GTK3)

Currently we are trying the Matcha theme to become the default theme of Manjaro 18.0. During our testing with XFCE 4.13 patches we found some issues with the desktop icons:

blue

The selection color is in all themes still blue. At least for Matcha-sea I expected it to be highlighted in green.

workspace indicator occur ugly style.

Hi, change matcha gnome-shell-theme occur workspace indicator ugly style.

And where is the menu box speperate line padding option?
I need your help!

Thanks you, sir! This gnome-shell-theme is perfect.

Support for a modded version of arc-firefox-theme

Good evening,

Taking into account that your theme was based on the "Arc" theme, are there plans to implement a modded version, or instructions for the modification of, the arc-firefox-theme in order for it to fit in to the color scheme of matcha?

Thanks!

no icons?

Is it coorect that there is no icon set.
What could be a good icon set?
I used Numix but want to switch
Thanks

Releases

I would like to package this (and other themes from vinceliuice) for NixOS. It would be easier if the releases were more frequent. Can new versions be released more frequently?

Bug in pixman

Hi there,
i have installed this theme for testing purpose in our system. We have included in our repo ( Manjaro Linux ). At the moment in my daily runner gnome pc i have notice of this error:

(gnome-tweaks:3949): Gtk-WARNING **: 18:51:00.071: Negative content width -7 (allocation 1, extents 4x4) while allocating gadget (node arrow, owner GtkTreeMenu)
*** BUG ***
In pixman_region32_init_rect: Invalid rectangle passed
Set a breakpoint on '_pixman_log_error' to debug

I see this example in a drop-down menu in gnome-tweak.

Anyway is a great theme and also the sea version match with our official color

Cheers
Stefano Capitani

Menu text very very dark in some apps (gtk2?)

Fedora 29
XFCE
gtk2 2.24.32
gtk3 3.24.1

In GTK2 apps (claws mail, ristretto) the menu bar has very very dark text color, almost black, pretty much invisible against menu bar background which is also dark.

In GTK3 apps (xfce terminal, thunar) it's OK.

Oh and where could I fix it myself in my own local copy, please?

Extra window bar on top of maximized firefox window when its title bar is disabled (a.k.a using firefox's CSD)

Distro: Manjaro
DE: Cinnamon
Matcha theme version: 20181007-1

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set the theme as follows in cinnamon settings:
    screenshot from 2018-10-10 22-23-09

  2. Go to Firefox > Customize > uncheck "Title Bar" at the bottom left corner

  3. A extra bar is produced on top of the window when maximized:
    screenshot from 2018-10-10 22-22-34

  4. Neither a logout or a reboot solves the issue.

For comparison, this does not occur with other themes, including arc, which matcha is based on.
screenshot from 2018-10-10 22-24-05

And it does not occur with other programs using CSD, such as pamac and chromium

Thank you!

[Request] Login sceen

background-color issue

Hey,

I have some background-color issues when using "Matcha-dark-aliz".

Can you tell me what file to modify ?

Beautiful theme, but matching the Shell screenshots (Dock and panel)

This is the most beautiful UI I've ever seen, by the way!

I installed the sea theme, but only the explorer windows and icons have the theme. Even when I got the gnome theme extension, I only saw some of the top panel change styling.

What I want, is exactly what I see in your screenshots where the dock is on the bottom with the panel included (and to the right), and all the launcher app icons have a nicer look too. Currently my dock is essentially identical as the default 18.04.1 and my panel is still at the top, but does look a little nicer.

I want my dock and panel to be merged and styled exactly like you have it in this screenshot, with the improved launcher app icons in the dock. Is that part of this repo or pieces of other packages your using, and if that's the case, what are they?

Cheers!

Utilizing all cores of cpu

Are you mining using this display theme ? bit weird , on average 50% cpu is getting utilized by this theme , core i5 processor with 4 cores

Swap :prelight with :hover

Otherwise the error:
Gtk-WARNING **: 19:20:13.358: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:5505:48: The :prelight pseudo-class is deprecated. Use :hover instead.

would keep reappearing.

Menubars broken in Xfce

I've installed this theme through the Installer script, and when I open up thunar, the toolbar is white instead of black, giving it a jarring look. It has been working fine in xfce4-terminal and firefox however.

White inner border in Gnome Terminal

Hey, since a recent update, some Applications such as the Gnome Terminal display a 1px white inner border.

See:
screenshot from 2019-01-19 17-37-51

This only happens when using a Light theme from the matcha collection. Dark themes doen't seem to be affected by this issue.

XFCE Notifications

Figured it would help you out if I moved it to here rather than on the XFCE-look page.

So they don't look broken or anything, but in my opinion I think they'd look nicer darker to match the overall tone of the theme. What do you think?
Within the notification settings there is actually a theme option available. It'd be harder than just tweaking the colour, but if you think it's worth it it's possible to create a custom theme for it.

GTK 2 & 3 Inconsistency

The right click menu for GTK 2 apps is lighter than the one in GTK apps (and in my opinion doesn't look as nice as the GTK 3 apps).

gtk2 theme not working

I'm running Ubuntu 17.10, and after installing the Matcha dir to ~/.local/share/themes, most of the themes work, but the gtk2 theme doesn't load correctly, I just get the oldschool "no theme" design in gtk2 apps. I've verified I've installed the gtk2 prereqs:

โŸซ dpkg -l | grep gtk2-engines
ii gtk2-engines:amd64 1:2.20.2-3ubuntu1 amd64 theme engines for GTK+ 2.x
ii gtk2-engines-murrine:amd64 0.98.2-0ubuntu5 amd64 cairo-based gtk+-2.0 theme engine
ii gtk2-engines-pixbuf:amd64 2.24.31-2ubuntu1 amd64 pixbuf-based theme for GTK+ 2.x

Is there a better way to debug why it isn't loading?

Double minimize button Firefox 60.0

The latest Firefox Beta 60.0 has client-side gtk decorations. However, now it also shows a 'ghost' minimalization button as can be seen here and here. This doesn't appear anywhere else.

Could you please look into this? Love the theme!

Close button in Chrome is always big

Hi,
as the title says, the "close" button in Chrome is always big (like when the mouse goes over it).
This happen only with Chrome, I don't have the same issue with Chromium.
