Fix for libadwaita (Gnome-shell >= 42.0)

libadwaita

run: ./install.sh -l (Default light version will installed)

This fix is just a link from selected Ochis gtk-4.0 theme in $HOME/.theme to $HOME/.config/gtk-4.0/gtk.css so it will not support change theme through Gnome-tweaks if you want install other theme version for libadwaita you can run like:

./install.sh -c dark -l #(Link dark version)
./install.sh -c dark -t purple -l #(Link dark purple version)

and so on ...

orchis-theme's Issues

Inconsistent Dark Theme Compact

Every panel in the top bar is showing the system light theme with the Orchis dark compact theme.

orchis-dark-compact

For reference the Orchis dark (standard size) theme is displaying the dark theme, as it should for compact as well.

Issue with Files

I am facing this. Any idea how to fix?
Thank you for this awesome theme.

File managers not looking good

Hi, I found your theme on https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1357889/ and fall in love with that window design https://cdn.pling.com/img/4/0/4/4/154af2067900edd86e4aee1f25bbdf603dcc.png . However when I installed it, it doesn't look anything like it https://imgur.com/nJeDac0. I'm running i3-gaps-rounded on Arch so maybe I'm missing some non-specified packages?

I tried to install the theme via your installer in git and also tried an AUR package. For file manager I tried it with nemo and nautilus, with the same results. I even tried to install gnome to see if full DE will help, but it didn't. Any idea on how to get the design right?

firefox - blur in tab name

Hello,

I really love your GTK theme and I would like Firefox to fit nicely with it. However, as you can see in the screen shot, the title in the tabs are weird.

I am running Fedora 33 with Wayland if that could explain something.

Screenshot from 2020-11-19 19-12-32

waybar acting weird with orchis

waybar's workspace module gets a lot of padding on each workspace when orchis theme is applied, but it's ok with other themes,so I think that this issue is from orchis, not waybar

GTK theme parsing error

Opening gedit or any other application through sudo gives me this error

(gedit:241658): Gtk-WARNING **: 20:48:26.524: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:4072:13: not a number

Spacing around windows

Hello,

First of I wanna say, this is totally not an issue, but a request for help..

So I've been googling a bit to find how to add spacing around windows (maximized / not maximized)
And I came across some posts that told me to edit this line: -UnityDecoration-extents: 28px 0 0 0;.
But once I edited that line to something ridiculous like -UnityDecoration-extents: 28px 20px 20px 20px;
And reloaded my shell (Alt + F2) and using R, it didn't do anything to any type of window.

Now I have been looking a bit deeper inside the CSS and found some things that looked like what I was looking for
But after some testing and trying some stuff out, it did not what I want or didn't do anything.

Is there anyone that can help me out what I need to do?

  • I use Dark-compact style
  • I use Dark-compact shell

Thanks in advance

Ubuntu Software Store and Synaptic not in dark theme with Orchis Dark or Dark compact

Ubuntu 20.10 x64, with either Orchis-dark or Orchis-dark-compact set for applications and shell, the Ubuntu Software Store and Synaptics Package Manager are showing up in light theme. They do show up in dark mode when Applications theme is set to either either Adwaita-dark or Yaru-dark so it seems specific to the Orchis dark Applications themes.

Provide XFCE/XFWM4 theme

This theme is great, but under XFCE it laks a panel theme and window manager theme . I would love to use it on XFCE.
Thanks!

ininite recursion in titlebar "spacers"/whitespace

this bug happens almost immediately in the tweaks app itself.

In the title bar on the far left there is this distorted little box. If you look closely it's an infinite recursion of little boxes.

I don't think this is intentional, and it's definitely slowing down gnome (depending on the language and max recursions they may have set by default ... I assume there's a max recursions, otherwise this would deadlock the machine 👎

There's also another bug I've noticed in a downstream project where all the icons get shifted to as far right as possible occassionally, I didn't use Orchis long enough to find out if this is an orchis bug or down stream (i'm not a fan of the borders around buttons, etc).

Thanks for the hard work, this is an incredible project :)

ps:

This seems to be an issue with non orchis themes too ... or at least i think non-orchis.

https://github.com/B00merang-Project/macOS

With more basic themes and of course the default theme this isn't an issue. Maybe it'd the gradients in the titlebars? tho adwaita itself is a gradient ? hmm face

Orchis-theme produced a vala-panel-appmenu segfault.

Hiya,

recently I have had a vala-panel-appmenu segfault with Xfce 4.16 on Slackware.

What we have found out, corchis-theme produced the segfault.

No tick boxes

I can't see any tick boxes when using the Orchis theme.
This is my configuration:
image
And this is what it looks like:
video.zip
It's very annoying as it makes it difficult to tell whether its selected or not. This may be an siisue because I also have KDE Plasma installed.

Rounded corners in the bottom "leak" some elements like the dashed line, scrollbar and the overscroll animation.

The rounded corners in this theme look awesome, however, since it is some "hack" of how GTK3 windows usually look, some elements still act like the corners in the bottom of the window were squared.
For example, in this screenshot I've taken in Settings, the overscroll animation "leaks" outside of the window on the bottom right, this also happens with the dashed line (the one that shows there's more content on a list) on the bottom left. When I click in the scrollbar, it also shows outside of the window.

PS: I added the green background to make it easier to see without motion.

Issue with MySQL Workbench Dark theme

Screenshot from 2020-07-30 16-17-26

I'm using Orchis-theme-dark-compact themes. When I opened Mysql Workbech, Background color and text overlap. It' It makes me uncomfortable. Any idea how to fix?
Sr I don't speak E very well. I use gg translate to do it
Thank you for this awesome theme.

Dotted lines at the bottom of settings

Just found a little problem with the shell and the gnome settings application (and system monitor, probably other apps as well), you can see these dotted lines that extend away from the app.
After a little testing, they appear to indicate to the user that they can scroll down, and only disappear if they can not scroll down anymore.

GNOME Version: 3.36.2
OS: Manjaro 20.0.3

Edit: Just realized this isn't the shell theme's fault, but rather an option inside gtk.css which I'm working on fixing.

Secondary context menus don't show in Firefox Wayland

Issue: When running Firefox in native Wayland mode, the secondary level in right-click context menus don't show, or show only intermittently. Issue doesn't occur if Firefox is running in XWayland mode. Issue also doesn't occur with the default Adwaita theme, among others.

Flatpak theme?

Has there been any thoughts regarding porting this theme to flatpak? Having flatpak installed packages theme like the rest of the native installed packages would be wonderful! 😸

plank issue

any chance you could fix this issue, that seems to be a problem with most themes based on materia, that in the plank rightclick menu everything stays highlighted, see https://i.imgur.com/UzGvaRZ.png (yes thats orchis, i just tweaked the corner radius)

[Feature] Color variants

It would be great to see color variants like in canta, vimix, matcha an etc. Selection blue color too dark, I think.

By the way, great theme, I switched materia theme to this.

Bottom corners rounded in all programms like standard gnome apps

What if all programs bottoms is rounded like the standard gnome apps. For example the file explorer bottom is rounded
File Explorer in Pop Os
but in the Firefox is not

I was googling around but i don't found anything useful. I am sure that it could be done but my gnome-CSS skills is a little bit shitty.

Firefox theme: changing 'Themes' to 'Dark' in the 'Customize…' menu doesn't work

I'm using Firefox 80.0.1, my distro is Manjaro and my DE is KDE.
Changing 'Themes' to 'Dark' in the 'Customize…' menu doesn't affect the upper bar of Firefox, i.e. the one where tabs are. It does affect the icons (some of them at least, I know there are issues with icons as well), which become white, and Firefox Home, which becomes black.
Is this supposed to work on Gnome only? I'm sorry for wasting your time with this issue if that's the case.

Styling error on elementary OS Hera

Great theme.
However, there is an error on Pantheon where the close tab button circular grey background is cut off on hover/focus.
Using elementary OS 5.1.7 Hera.

See below example when hovered:

Firefox Theme

I still don't understand how to switch between dark and light theme.
Can anyone help me?

Activities icon looks bad trimmed after OS update

image
Hi.
I just upgraded Pop_Os to 20.10 and the icon on the top left bar now looks like if it was badly trimmed on the top and bottom.
Is there a way to fix it and/or change that icon to make it look like before?

What color are check boxes?

Screenshot 2020-07-20 at 2 52 30 AM
I see that check boxes are green everywhere, but digging through the different assets I see that the colors are actually blue (just what I wanted). Am I missing something or is green the correct color? If so, is there a simple way to enforce the pixel blue check boxes?

Thank you

Suggestion Change color of notification info

While playing from Spotify notification is appearing like this, with Artist name in proper white color but song's name in dark, which is annoying to read
Should be changed to -> White

Nemo location bar has black text on black background

nemoissue

As per the screenshot, the location field in the Nemo file manager appears as black text on a black background with this theme enabled. With other themes, the file manager correctly shows white text on a black background if the theme darkens the location field area.

I'm on Fedora 32 with Gnome 3.36.5. The prerequisites including gtk-murrine-engine are installed.

Dash Text Issue

Just found this theme and built the latest version from this repo.
I love it, the only issue I have is the text in the dash. It doesn't fit inside the highlight background and folder background. Maybe a rounded square or a bigger circle would be better?
Keep up the great work!

Make dock more transparent?

This isn't really an issue, I am just wondering which line I should change in order to have the dock to have the same opacity level as the dock?

Many thanks.
