dmitlichess's Issues

More commentators

Keeping a list of requested commentator voices (unlikely they will be added but you never know):

  • - Yasser Seirawan
  • - Hikaru Nakamura
  • - John Bartholomew
  • - Ben Finegold
  • - Jan Gustafsson
  • - Kingscrusher
  • - Chessnetwork
  • - Peter Svidler
  • - Garry Kasparov
  • - Simon Williams
  • - Zugaddict
  • - Daniel Rensch
  • - Miodrag Perunovic
  • - Alex Yermolinsky
  • - Manneredmonkey

Noise reduction on Yasser sounds

Background noise / static is audible on a lot of Yasser sounds.
Some work should be done to reduce it. Could use lowpass/highpass filter on ffmepg or audacity noise reduction filters.

is the addon dead?

seems not to work and the previous issues on a github indicate that i am not the only one

Feature request: color commentary

Being able to select which players commentate for which colors could be fun.

Having a button to switch sides could be fun, or to randomly select two commentators could be fun.

Re-work the init sequence

Currently using setTimeout and bad practices to make sure some required HTML elements are found the page when the extension is loaded. Need to figure a better and more consistent way to do this.

new version of lichess released = extension broken

Hi,

As I told you recently, lichess got a major upgrade. The HTML has changed quite a bit and as a result your most excellent extension is not working anymore.

Just a heads up in case you want to update it. The actual frontend of lichess is now stable and may be built upon.

More fallback move notation

When a sound file is not found for a move notation, translate to more fallback notation. e.g.:

  • Nd2 if Nbd2 sound doesn't exist
  • Bx if Bxf4 doesn't exist
  • h1 if Kh1 doesn't exist

Currently only translating stuff like Kxh6 to xh6

verbal countdown for bullet games

It would be useful to have countdown sounds like ten... 9... 8... when playing bullet.

Better even would be to customize when the remaining time is voiced.

Error: "Download failed. Please check your connection" with Firefox 64

I get the "Download failed" message after I click the "Add to Firefox" in Firefox 64.0.2 on both Fedora 28 and macOS 10.14.2 for dmitlichess 0.5.433. This is while my connection is fine (according to bmon) and the download seems to be progressing happily along.

Right-clicking and saving dmitlichess-0.5.433-fx.xpi (shasum: 82467dcadb4fc470c0e3673fa2774ea53fdba533) and then opening it with Firefox ends up giving the message "This add-on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt."

However, installing Version 0.3.100 via the button at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dmitlichess/versions/ still works on both platforms (Version 0.5.432 states "This add-on is not available on your platform"). I can confirm that 0.5.432 does work on Chrome 71.0.3578.98.
