Shenzhen: the Growth and Livability of Mega-city. Shenzhen, known as China's booming silicon valley, used to be a small fish town 40 years ago. Today, it ranks one of the top mega-cities in China and leading examples of urbanization in developing countries. This project aims to introduce the audience with a brief timeline of Shenzhen's history of development, and examine how Shenzhen has achieved or failed in three aspects of livability: environment, hospital accessibility, and crime and safety, through data visualization.
