Overview

We present a new end-to-end generative adversarial network (GAN) for single image motion deblurring, named DeblurGAN-v2, which considerably boosts state-of-the-art deblurring efficiency, quality, and flexibility. DeblurGAN-v2 is based on a relativistic conditional GAN with a double-scale discriminator. For the first time, we introduce the Feature Pyramid Network into deblurring, as a core building block in the generator of DeblurGAN-v2. It can flexibly work with a wide range of backbones, to navigate the balance between performance and efficiency. The plug-in of sophisticated backbones (e.g., Inception-ResNet-v2) can lead to solid state-of-the-art deblurring. Meanwhile, with light-weight backbones (e.g., MobileNet and its variants), DeblurGAN-v2 reaches 10-100 times faster than the nearest competitors, while maintaining close to state-of-the-art results, implying the option of real-time video deblurring. We demonstrate that DeblurGAN-v2 obtains very competitive performance on several popular benchmarks, in terms of deblurring quality (both objective and subjective), as well as efficiency. Besides, we show the architecture to be effective for general image restoration tasks too.

Datasets

The datasets for training can be downloaded via the links below:

Training

Command

python train.py

training script will load config under config/config.yaml

Tensorboard visualization

Testing

To test on a single image,

python predict.py IMAGE_NAME.jpg

By default, the name of the pretrained model used by Predictor is 'best_fpn.h5'. One can change it in the code ('weights_path' argument). It assumes that the fpn_inception backbone is used. If you want to try it with different backbone pretrain, please specify it also under ['model']['g_name'] in config/config.yaml.

deblurganv2's Issues

the net input size

The size of original images is 1280*720, When we test the net, should we put 256 * 256 in or 1280 * 720?

SSIM reproduction in either DeblurGANV2, V1

Hi,

Could you expose which SSIM was used? Did you use CW-SSIM from pyssim package?
People in this and your previous repo looking for the answer for reproducing the SSIM reported in your papers.
It seems none of individuals could get higher than 0.9 with the trained weights.

Thanks for any comments

Question about your code

Hi,
Thank you for your excellent work. When I was running your code, I noticed that you set the parameter 'retain_graph=True' when the discriminator D was updated. Could you explain why ?

Pretrained Model

Hi~

Thanks for your work. I have read the DeblurGANv1 paper several month ago and DeblurGANv2 as soon as I can.
Recently, I 'm dealing with my paper of deblur task, I really want to quote and compare with your V2 result in it. May I ask when would you upload your pre-trained model?
It will be very helpful and thank you!

RAGAN-LS loss is difference between code and paper

Hi~
Thanks for your work.
There are some question about RAGAN-LS loss, the implementation in code is
self.loss_D = (torch.mean((self.pred_real - torch.mean(self.fake_pool.query()) - 1) ** 2) +
torch.mean((self.pred_fake - torch.mean(self.real_pool.query()) + 1) ** 2)) / 2

but the details in paper is
LRaLSGAN
D = Ex∼pdata(x)(D(x) − Ez∼pz(z)D(G(z)) − 1)2
+ Ez∼pz(z)(D(G(z)) − Ex∼pdata(x)D(x) + 1)2

I think its difference between "torch.mean(self.fake_pool.query())" and Ez∼pz(z)D(G(z)).

Impossible to convert the pre-trained H5 model to TFLITE

Hello,

Just for your information, I was unable to convert your pre-trained H5 model to TFLITE one using this colab cell:

import tensorflow as tf
model = tf.keras.models.load_model('/content/drive/.../your_model.h5')
converter = tf.lite.TFLiteConverter.from_keras_model(model)
tflite_model = converter.convert()
open("/content/drive/.../your_model.tflite", "wb").write(tflite_model)

The error was:

OSError: SavedModel file does not exist at: /content/drive/.../your_model.h5/{saved_model.pbtxt|saved_model.pb}

No module named 'pretrainedmodels'

when I run the code, I got this error
Is anyone know where I can find the pretrained inceptionresnetv2 model?
Thank you!

Problems in running under Windows

First of all, thank you very much for your contribution. When I use your data to train again, the following problems arise. How to solve them?
2

cannot import name 'inceptionresnetv2'

I'm sorry to bother you. I want to retrain the model by myself, but the following errors will occur:
The from pretrainedmodels import inceptionresnetv2
ImportError: cannot import name 'inceptionresnetv2'
May I ask how to solve this problem? Thank you very much

pre-trained model

Hello,thanks for your great job,but it seems that we can't download the pre-trained model,please upload it again .

Question about the pretrained model

Hi,
FPN-inception model performs very good in my tests. I have two questions:

  1. The color in the top-left corner seems to be strange. Is there something wrong?
  2. I want to repeat your training process. What is your training config and dataset?

Thanks.

Run pretty slowly on test_metrics.py

Hello,
I tested the pre-trained model using python test_metrics.py
but it seems like running pretty slowly for testing, is there anything i need to note for running this code test_metrics.py?

Implementation Details for datasets

I saw that you used datasets GoPro, DVD, and NFS for training in your paper.
Does it means that I need download that three datasets mentioned above, and put all of them in following way?
train:
files_a: ./datasets/my_dataset/train//blur/*.png
files_b: ./datasets/my_dataset/train/
/sharp/.png
...
...
val:
files_a: ./datasets/my_dataset/test/**/blur/
.png
files_b: ./datasets/my_dataset/test/**/sharp/*.png
...
...
After that, I can just use command : python train.py, then datasets setting will be the same as paper?
Thank You!

Port to tensorflow.js

Hi,
Thanks for your work.
Taking into account that your solution should be fast, will you be porting/converting trained models to tensorflow.js?

How to test a 256×256 image?

Hello ,good work, but I have a question.
I want to test your model in my own data with the size of 256×256, and when I run the command with

python test_metrics.py --img_folder=./datasets/my_dataset/ --weights_path=./best_fpn.h5

the program will result in an error,

ValueError: operands could not be broadcast together with shapes (720,1280,3) (256,256,3)

I would like to know why the input with an image of 256×256×3, and then the output with the size of 720×1280×3.
Looking forward to your reply?

Batch images predict

Is there any command to predict all images in the folder ?
I do not want to process all images one by one.

tryed: python predict.py /home/specyfick/Downloads/Wladek/raw/blurred5/*.JPG

I also looked into the code, but unfortunately I'm no very good in python.
Thanks
