Unable to resolve a dependency of a dependency using alias about vitest HOT 4 CLOSED

Aliases of imports inside external packages are not supported. You need to inline the package using test.server.deps.inline option:

It works in this 2 level hierarchy case, but if we add a new layer, for example "@higher-component/charts" which depends on "@another-component/design-system", then it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Regardless of hierarchy, server.deps.inline is expected to work as long as all the dependency chain are included there. We would need a reproduction to investigate the issue further.

Also just in case, could you confirm you are talking about cases like this?

## alias doesn't work for @some-component/react
$ npm ls @some-component/react
your-project
  -> @higher-component/charts
    -> @another-component/design-system
      -> @some-component/react

## alias works for @some-component/react
$ npm ls @some-component/react
your-project
  -> @another-component/design-system
