Linking contacts in 4000 - 5000 range should be made as private call contacts not group call contacts, that exist in this codeplug. These are PC's and not TG's. They should not be in the RX group, where only the hub TG's ; TG 6.8 9 etc # (depending on system), should be, to enable hearing the linking announcement. These TG No's # suiting the system used (pistar DMRGateway example) The channel must be returned to # TG, to then qso. There is widespread misunderstanding regarding describing linking > correct private contacts as TG's. Even though they may function for the link the traffic flows to dashboards confusing many. The correct private call does not propagate in this manner.
I encourage users to use manual dial instead of linking channels where possible.4000 - 5000 are not TG's and as such cannot be used to qso, linking only, and as such are designed to be private call contacts.

You could use the utility (windows exe) by G4ELM that does Codeplug.dat <----> spreadsheets (csv) e.g. Zones.csv, Channels.csv, Contacts.csv, and Groups.csv

Then you can put the csv speadsheets in github, which would allow PR's to be managed as these are just plain text files
