This video never preloads from this instance but yes from many others (mastodon.london, toots.maikel.dev, mastodonapp.uk) with different versions of Mastodon (v.4.1.0, v.4.0.1, v.4.0.2)

If the issue is fixed for those two links it shouldn't happen again with any other future links. But so far it seems to be random with some video links. As shown to @vmstan the same video linked different (e.g.: a cut of the video gaming youtube sharing links) does show the preview so it's not the video itself, it's the links.

This might require asking Masto-team who does the prefetch of video previews and when since they have such wonderful documentation where this isn't mentioned at all.

This just gives a slightly degraded UX because we worked out a way to fetch the previews but...other users who don't know this might be puzzled. I wouldn't either classify this as a priority.

          I have this issue on mobile as well. However, when I try to log into the web app and cross-sign as a workaround, it reports "Unable to query secret storage status", then quits the settings page. I seem to be unable to set up secure keys.

Using Firefox, connecting to matrix.vmst.io.

Update: Could this be due to a CORS error, perhaps a misconfiguration of the server?

When browsing my home timeline, I will fairly often see the timeline get "stuck" at a particular post and not load anything further back.

Today, Jan 7, 2022, 4:58 pm Central Time, it is happening to me.
It won't scroll any further pack than posts from 4:12pm.

I'll scroll down the Home timeline, and then there gets a point where it won't scroll any further. The page shows a Load More button. When I click it, the page goes through some kind of loading exercise, but no additional posts load.

Normally, when this happens, the page should load additional posts.

This happens in the default web interface.
I've noticed it on both Pop!_OS and MacOS, happening in both Firefox and Chromium (getting stuck to the to the same post).

This does not seem to affect the other timelines.

Hard refresh, clearing cache, restarting browser do not have any effect.

What is your question?

Although I seem to be automatically logged in when I select sign in I'm told that some combination of E-mail address and password is incorrect. Attempts at resetting have yet to receive a response.
