docs's Issues

Update of npm modules and debian version?

Looking at Node's version number 10 (old!) used for Volumio2UI I am using a Docker container to build the UI. Even then I see a lot of deprecated notices and security warnings. Is anyone working at keeping this repo up to date or is this abandonware? BTW building the UI depends on a X86/AMD64 only part maybe this should be mentioned in the build instructions?

The same for the Debian version (Jessie) that one is really old and archived at the time. Any updates to a higher version in the pipeline?

Please document 'contemporary' UI

Just so this doesn't get forgotten...

I struggle with the new layout design (V2.714 and later) and went back to 'classic' after a few minutes. The thing I think bothered me the most was getting from the 'music library' screen back to the 'playback' screen.

List of supported deviced

It would be great to have a an exact list of the supported devices. I've tried to run the current version of volumio an a raspiberry pi 1 model A. After searching the web for quite some time i've found out that this model will not work any more due to the few ram.

Multiroom

How is the 'multiroom' feature supposed to work exactly?
The First Steps with Volumio chapter shows that if have multiple devices, they are shown in the UI and you can connect to each of them by cicking on them. But is the intention that:

  • one device controls what all the others play, or
  • each device may play a different track and the multiroom feature merely lets you see what is being played by any other device?

To me, the term 'multiroom' suggests the first option, that as you move from one room to another you can continue to listen to a piece of music, with all the subtle considerations about playback syncing being magically handled.
