voron-1's Issues

Bed size

There is also a drawing for the bed in the document for voron 2.4. I didn't find this drawing anywhere in the documentation for Voron 1.8, so I can't continue the construction. The size as such I know is 300x300x8 mm but I am concerned with the mounting holes and their location. Would it be possible to add it to the documentation? Thank you in advance
PS I apologize for my English

PDF issues

Some Voron v1.8 manual PDF issues:
p.32, misspelled Gantry in the title of the chapter,
p.20, screws should be M5x30 BHCS

Panel retainers are different in master cad and stl files.

Manual issue, page101

I noticed an issue in the sentence page 101 of the manual:
"If you cable chain as a fixed and use this end on the XY joint."
For me it should be :
"If you cable chain as a fixed end, use this end on the XY joint."

Zip ties can interfere with homing X when Y=0

With the head at the front of the printer (Y=0), if the head of the zip tie is to the side, it can hit the front IDLER and prevent triggering of the X microswitch.

Routing the zip-tie in the opposite direction is rather challenging.

1.8r1 release missing many STL

I downloaded the official release and discovered it is missing many STL parts. For example, the front doors are missing from panel mount directory, among other missing.

IEC Doesn't Match BOM + Workaround Adam Tech IEC-GS-1-100

IEC power inlet no longer matches the BOM.

Additionally, I couldn't find the 300 mm power skirt in the CAD model.

There's a few shortcomings in the CAD model. Primarily, the version included seems to be a zero-clearance fit around the intended part and is not removable.

Workaround:
https://github.com/CircuitGuy/Voron1.8_IEC-GS-1-100

On Discord, I and a few other users mentioned purchasing an Adam Tech IEC-GS-1-100, currently the part for the V0.

I'm attaching the STLs and CAD model for an updated version. The 300 mm version fits the Adam Tech IEC plug with the recommended cut-out dimensions. It has much more room around the clips, so it should fit other brands with slightly different tab spacing (including the original "JR" that's in the CAD model). It engages with a loose engineering fit and provides rear access to remove the retaining clips if needed.

Known deficiencies:
The CAD models I've linked have a fairly thin feature at the top. Ideally the plug should be slid down a mm or so. That said, the thin wall isn't structural and printed just fine for me.

I have provided the 250 mm version but have not tested it.

Fixed igus ends cause loss of X travel

The fixed igus end pieces specced for the V2 cause loss of x travel in the V1.

Can the appropriate igus part numbers be listed on the sourcing guide and the configurator for V1.

Sourcing guide at least so that no one else who takes the time to check, purchases the fixed ends for a V1.

STL latch needed 1 time instead of 2

\Voron-1-1.8r1\Voron-1-1.8r1\STLs\Panel_Mounting\Front_Doors\latch_x2.stl should be printed once according to the CAD. Filename should be changed to latch.stl

Some exhaust filter accented part filenames do not start with [a]_

Exhaust filter grill shows as red in the master cad file but is not denoted as accented in the filename.
https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-1/blob/Voron1.8/STLs/Exhaust_Filter/exhaust_filter_grill.stl

Same for the exhaust mount clips:
https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-1/blob/Voron1.8/STLs/Exhaust_Filter/exhaust_filter_mount_x2.stl

exhaust filter

For the mount clips I see there is the same issue in the v2 repo also:
VoronDesign/Voron-2#224

Exhaust filter cutout too short

In the CAD of the V1 the cutout for the exhaust filter is too short (35.6mm instead of 42mm of the V2). This carries through in the generated drawings of the top back panel. People might have gotten panels ordered or cut with a hole that's not big enough. (I have, but that doesn't matter ๐Ÿ˜„ )

Not enough small bearing spacer

Hi Voron Team,

i have seen, i need 6 small bearing spacer. 4 for the A/B drive unit (Page 8 in the Manual) and 2 for the front idlers (Page 20 in the Manual).
From the STL filename i need 4.
