a Logseq plugin to create pages for Zotero items using custom page titles and properties
License: MIT License
Add an indicator to the search bar to highlight if an item is already imported.
This prevents duplicate entries of items. Similar to https://github.com/daeh/zotero-markdb-connect.
Set up with a basic .bib file. /logtero
command pops up the search but nothing appears when I search for an item.
I've tried with a smaller .bib file, but still get the same problems.
Any thoughts on how to debug this one?
Hi! First of all, thank you for creating this plug in. I just discovered today and was looking for an option to edit the Zotero page's template.
The issue is I'm not being able to edit the page properties after creating the Zotero page with the plug in. When the page is created, I can see the template just as I created it. But as soon as I click on the first line of the properties (in my case, an empty tags::
property) every other property disappears. They reappear if I click away, but the greatest issue is: as soon as I add some tags, the rest of the properties are erased and I'm left with only the tags::
property with the newly entered tags.
I'll greatly appreciate the help, since this plug in is the last thing I needed to switch to Zotero without damaging my workflow. I feel I'm so close to being able to switch, and your plug in is precisely helping me do that. Thanks in advanced for your help and time :)
Great plugin!
My problem - I have an example item/paper with a title Gao et al. (2017) Inferring synaptic excitation/inhibition balance from field potentials
. Because of /
a Logseq hierarchy is created and I want to avoid that.
When outlining a thought, it would be handy to insert a bibliographic note. It would therefore be nice to search for notes and add them which directly imports or link to the note of the reference.
I import the item first, then add the note and go back to the page to link to this specific item note. Doing this instantly would save me some time creating pages and importing notes.
This is a really small details, but for one paper I have abstract like this
abstract:: "Introduction: The slope of the electroencephalography (EEG) power spectrum (also referred to as 1/f noise) is an important consideration when calculating narrow-band power. However, psychophysiological data also suggest this slope is a meaningful signal itself, not merely background activity or noise. We present two different methods for quantifying the slope of the power spectrum and assess their reliability and sensitivity.
Methods: We used data from N = 60 participants who had EEG collected during rest, a videogame task, and a second period of rest. At all phases of the experiment, we calculated the “spectral slope” (a regression-based method fit to all datapoints) and the “aperiodic slope” (estimated with the fitting oscillations with 1/f algo rithm FOOOF). For both methods we assessed: their reliability, their sensitivity to the transition from rest to task, their sensitivity to changes during the videogame task itself, and the agreement between the two measures.
Results: Across resting phases, both spectral and aperiodic slopes showed a high degree of reliability. Both methods also showed a steepening of the power spectrum on-task compared to rest. There was also a high degree of consistency between the two methods in their estimate of the underlying slope, but FOOOF explained more variance in the power spectra across regions and type of activity (rest versus task).
Conclusion: The slope of the power spectrum is a highly reliable individual difference and sensitive to withinsubject changes across two different methods of estimation. Moving forward, we generally recommend the use of the FOOOF algorithm for its ability to account for narrow-band signals, but these data show how regression-based approaches produce similar estimates of the spectral slope, which may be useful in some applications."
is rendered in logseq like this
abstract:: "<h3>Abstract</h3> <h3>Background</h3> <p>Previous research has shown that the slope of the electroencephalography (EEG) power spectrum mediates the difference between older and younger adults on a visuo-spatial working memory task. The present study sought to replicate and extend that work using a larger sample and a validated set of neuropsychological tests: The Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS).</p><h3>Methods</h3> <p>Forty-four participants (21 younger adults, 23 older adults) completed a battery of cognitive and motor tasks that included the RBANS. EEG data was collected both during rest and on-task. Excluding the alpha-band, RBANS scores were regressed onto the slope of the resting EEG power spectrum, controlling for age and using robust mediation analysis.</p><h3>Results</h3> <p>Older adults performed reliably lower on the composite RBANS and the Coding, List Recall, List Recognition, and Figure Recall subtests. However, boot-strapped mediation models only showed a mediating effect of the spectral slope on the RBANS composite and the Coding subtest.</p><h3>Conclusions</h3> <p>The resting slope of the EEG power spectrum mediated age-related differences in cognition in the current study, which replicates prior work and is consistent with the neural noise hypothesis of aging. In extending this work, it was shown that these effects are strongest in tasks requiring speeded processing and/or executive functions, whereas this effect was weaker (to absent) for delayed memory, even though age-related differences were present. This pilot study warrants further exploration of the EEG power spectrum in age-related cognitive decline.</p>"
Only the first paragraph is displayed in the page property, the rest is outside it.
below the bib file but it seems normal when I try to read the item in other editor
Exported Items.bib.zip
Maybe stripping the enters and replacing it by soft enters is possible?
if this is not a easy fix or something not important you might close the issue
Allow to create notes including the direct link to Zotero. I do all my note-taking per source in Zotero, import them into Logseq and connect them there. It is important to me to quickly find the source of a note to check it's context. An example can be seen below:
“After successful engagements, particularly on environmental/social issues, companies experience improved accounting performance and governance and increased institutional ownership.” ([Dimson et al., 2015](zotero://select/library/items/PUVCMBBP)) ([pdf](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/9HR3MS6S?page=2&annotation=F5NCWD68))
For convenience, it would be nice to be able to import multiple items at the same time. For my style, they should be imported as multiple bullets. But importing them with separators could also be an option.
I have already install and configure properly, and it works well. But I can't open pdf file directly in logseq using {{pdf}} placeholder but open in my default pdf viewer. There's no auto pdf logo showed in block. Here is my page generated by logtero:
authors:: "Schnitzbauer, J., Strauss, M., Schlichthaerle, T., Schueder, F., Jungmann, R."
file-path:: D:\ZoteroData\storage\YE63XLY2\2017(Nat Protoc)Super-resolution microscopy with DNA-PAINT.pdf{{}}
url:: https://www.nature.com/articles/nprot.2017.024
year:: 2017
title:: @Schnitzbauer et al. (2017) Super-resolution microscopy with DNA-PAINT
local-library:: [Local library](zotero://select/library/items/Y46V595G)
doi:: 10.1038/nprot.2017.024
journal:: Nature Protocols
pdf:: ![2017(Nat Protoc)Super-resolution microscopy with DNA-PAINT.pdf](D:\ZoteroData\storage\YE63XLY2\2017(Nat Protoc)Super-resolution microscopy with DNA-PAINT.pdf)
I noticed the proper pdf was show if the pdf path is defaut assert path, or a {{zotero-import-file xxx}}
followed by [name](path)
.
How could I solve this problem? Is there anything wrong in my configuration? My logseq is the latest (0.8.7).
After creation of reference I have
Pathania et al. 2021 Relating resting EEG power spectra to age-related differences in cognitive performance: An observational pilot study
after reindexing files it becomes
Relating resting EEG power spectra to age-related differences in cognitive performance: An observational pilot study
Below the compressed bibliography file
Pathania.bib.zip
I am on Logseq 0.7.6, On mac, plugin verson v1.0.1
Pages created earlier with previoius version of the plugin doesnt change names.
It would be nice to have a default template already populated. This would make changing an already built template easier than building one myself. The default one can be similar to the Logseq Zotero one.
I noticed that if a resource has no author it cannot be found in Logseq even when the item exists in the Zotero export. This came up for me with a Youtbue video that had a Producer but not obvious author, director, etc.
While writing academic text it would be useful to have a way to insert pandoc citation of an article into the text.
for example I would like to have the paragraph below
Wrting an article usually involve citing many authors [@harvey2022]
Using pandoc I can further render this document.
When I click the search result, this error showed in the console:
Logtero: Error TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'item') at index.6cce6ae3.js:2:90315
macos 13.0 (22A380)
logseq 0.8.14
As in the title of the issue, it would be really convenient to create a note and link it inline in the current note.
(or maybe such option existst but I didnt learnt about it)
The zip folder to download is named logseq-task-info-plugin. Shouldn't it be named logseq-logtero-plugin?
Add a button to the toolbar to open an item in Logseq or Zotero. This makes the interoperability of the tools easier. It would also allow me to jump to certain items faster if I don't remember the name of the page.
