ussedp's Issues

After downpatching, Key inputs do not work at all.

After downpatching with the Best Of Both Worlds, My game refuses to take any keyboard inputs, Mouse still works,
Controller works, However last time i played skyrim with Controller was nearly 2 years ago and im not willing to get used to it again, But might do it if i really have no other solutions.
I've tried almost EVERY fix i can think of/is in the internet.
Disabled steam overlay, Check if gamepad is enabled in ini settings, Which it was not.
Add the line bKeyboardEnable=1 under bControllerEnable, Didn't work. Reverifying fixed the issue, But it placed me in the latest version of Skyrim. Fully unmodded/Modded game has the exact same results, SKSE Does absolutely no difference on whether it works or not.
That's about all the fixes i've tried, And none have worked, Please fix, Afaik im the only person with this bug on EARTH. No information about it is in nexus/google about losing keyboard inputs any way or with the Downpatcher.

Downgrade not working (via steam/Linux)

Describe the bug
The downgrade fails when running in steam on Linux. Running via console as such indicates the problem:

~/proton_fallout.sh BestOfBoth_1.6.353.0-1.5.97.0.exe-57618-2022-01-21-1642729421.exe
[...]
Failure processing application bundle.
Failed to create directory [Z:\home\john_doe\dnld\archives\Skyrim_SE_mods\dnld\/home
/john_doe/.cache/dotnet_bundle_extract\] for extracting bundled files.
[...]

I believe, but not 100% sure, that steam can live with the wrong path slash, but the line break included is also real, which might be the actual problem.

I'd like to fix the source of course, but then I cannot build it easily.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux 5.16.4-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT
  • Game Version you started from: 1.6.353.0
  • Game Version you to downgrade: 1.5.97.0
  • Mod Manager MO2, but running in steam, wouldn't run in MO2 either.

Dynamic Animation Replacer not working

After downgrading, DAR no longer works.

Everything else except DAR works fine.

I have the german version of Skyrim SE AND i read the FAQ on Nexus so i know that it is probably shouldn'd work for non- english version. I just want to know whether it is because of the German version or is it a general problem?

Full Patcher - Armor Bug

Describe the bug
Just to start off I want to say all things considered this mod is an absolute gift and I appreciate the work done. It works almost perfectly and has saved my 200 hour character's save file. The bug I'm running into is after downpatching the game doesn't find the item name or number for the iron, steel, dragon, orcish, deadric, and imperial sets. The title names don't appear on the menu or in any menu and when you hover over them it just says "< missing name >". It was a clean install with no mods and just the base steam files of the game. After the downpatching I ran the game and found this problem. Figured it was because I didn't have a mod or two installed but after installing and finding all previous mods the problem wasn't fixed. The weird thing is, my character (who is wearing a set of dragonscale armor) still technically has the armor equipped in the game as I am getting the set bonus and the enchantments on it but it doesn't appear in my inventory. I go into the console and see that it's in my inventory permanently until I command to remove it. It also unequips when I equip a armor spell (oakflesh, dragonskin) or other item and the armor will not automatically re-equip when I unequip the new piece or spell and will still take inventory weight.

To Reproduce

  1. Clear all files.
  2. Reinstall game
  3. Download full downpatcher
  4. Launch game
  5. Browse the smithing menu and check armor sets.

Expected behavior
For the items to appear in the game itself.

Screenshots

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 10

  • Game Version you started from: 1.6.342

  • Game Version you downgraded to: 1.5.97.0

  • Mod Manager: MO2 & Vortex

Additional Context
I can manage it I just am not allowed to equip any new armor sets or any new spells but it limits my gameplay as I cannot max min my stats if I wanted to play on legendary. It also doesn't seem to infect armor variant expansion or immersive armors at all just the base game sets.

Bound Arrows Missing Name

Describe the bug
when you cast bound bow the name of the arrows in the bottom left corner says instead of bound arrows. This bug occurs after downgrading when using the BoBW patcher, i havent tried it with the full patcher.

CTD on load game

Describe the bug
When pressing F9 to quick load or manually selecting load after a couple seconds within the loading screen the game immediately crashes

Additional context
Ive tried manually removing many mods and other solutions yet still have an issue aswell this happens with both best of both worlds patcher and the full patcher.

Floating npcs, missing tomes and stuff

So a few weeks ago, when this mod was new, I used this patcher and everything is working fine. All my mods are working fine. All the mods i will mention that have some bugs were working until this happened

Steam suddenly out of nowhere updated skyrim so I had to redo all the steps. I updated skyrim, verified integrity of game files, and used this patcher. Everything is working fine now BUT, there are bugs that were nonexistent before. With skyrim at war, all npcs are floating when this never happened before. With realm of lorkhan, the spell books that were supposed to be near the winterhold portal are gone. When u walk inside whiterun for the firstime, theres this battle born talking to a non existent Adrianne Avenicci until she walked out of the blacksmite building a few seconds later. NONE of this ever happened until today when skyrim updated, then followed all the steps for the patcher.

"Lookup Failed" issues with Best of Both Worlds

Describe the bug
When using the BoBW patcher you will receive "lookup failed" issues at various points in the game, particularly in regards to Creation Club content.

To Reproduce
Simply use the BoBW downgrade patcher for AE down to SE.

Expected behavior
Various actions of the game do not work due to lookup failed issues. An easy example is to try to purchase horse armour and you'll be met with "Lookup Failed".

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Game Version you started from: 1.6.640
  • Game Version you downgraded to: 1.5.97
  • Mod Manager: MO2

Additional context
Unpacking the Patch.bsa file created by the BoBW patcher and deleting the strings folder, and then repacking seems to fix this issue, at least on the surface level.

Someone can help? I don't have mod installed in the game (is a fresh download) with SKSE for 1.5.97.0

Patch Files No Longer Exist

Please upload updated patch files to nexus or re-implement the patch downloader, it seems impossible to get the linux build to work other wise, the single .exe is convenient for windows users, but not everyone else...

also if at all possible please host updated patch files here on git as well, this would make the linux script much easier to stabilize long term, and I wouldn't have to host them myself on google...

Full Downgrade Patcher "Stream Length" Error

Now i've attempted to use the full downgrade patcher, however this error is given to me after a certain point in the process.

Now bear in mind that I havent purchased the anniversary update, but My game still says its updated. However with that said, My skyrim refuses to even Launch after running the "Best of Both Worlds" Patcher without issue with any mod installed. Any mod. even something that has been updated to AE.

Here is the complete process after running the FULL DOWNGRADER once.

If anyone has a fix for this, (or if its purely a 'me' problem) I would be grateful!

Not launching after using Downgrade Patch

I've tried using the Full Downgrade Patch and the game will not launch after using the patch. Below are the steps that I followed.

  1. Delete all prior SKSE .dll's and the launcher .exe
  2. Validate Files in Steam
  3. Ran the full downgrade patcher in Administrator Mode
  4. Clicked folder icon and selected the "SkyrimSE.exe" and Started Patching
  5. Download and install SKSE for SE build 2.0.20 (runtime 1.5.97)
  6. Ran the skse64_loader.exe Game doesn't load
  7. Updated file path in mod launcher(Vortex) to use skse64_loader.exe
  8. Run the launcher from Vortex. Game doesn't load.

I have tried disabling all mods, and I do not see any errors from the patcher. I attached the dialogue from the patcher, nothing stood out to me as odd, but i'm not an expert at these things.

Broken Strings in Patch File

Describe the bug
So, using the Best of Both Worlds patcher on completely vanilla files creates a Skyrim - Patch.BSA that contains broken strings. For example, in SSEEdit, Ulfric's Clothes (ref 00062303) shows an ilstring error.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Completely wipe, then install vanilla Skyrim SE from Steam
  2. Run "Best of Both Worlds" patcher
  3. Open xEdit and inspect one of many broken references
  4. See error

Expected behavior
Functional strings. Is resolved by deleting the Patch BSA, but I imagine that's not intended

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Game Version before downgrade: 1.6.353.0
  • Game Version after: 1.5.97.0
  • Mod Manager (MO2)

Additional context
I've noticed some people on reddit are seeing a broken "..." dialogue from blacksmiths, and this too is caused by the Patch.BSA. Relevant reddit post.

Skse64

skse64 dont work anymore

Launching the game CTD

Whenever I launch the game it shows the black box briefly then nothing else happens. The skse and the game is the same version and I don't have any mods that should be causing this. I played the game before I downloaded the mod and it worked fine.
