What if I do not want all the videos of the channels to be processed and add only a few or just one video from the channel.
How to add such entry in channels.yml?

Hi! I've recently added a bunch of channels in #357, but so far some of them aren't displaying any videos, saying No videos matching your query: HighLoad, PyCon 2019, PyCon 2018, PyCon 2017 and GopherCon Russia.

PyCon 2017 even not in the list, but for most of them there is a count of videos displayed near the channel name in the filter:

Can you please check what went wrong?

FYI: real channel names on youtube are different from ones in the channels.yml.

After browsing the current contributors; I figured that I may like to add a few of my video series to the list. I am confident that my channel would be considered for the platform (16k subs, 1-2 videos a week at least, and been around for almost 3 years now). My question is whether or not I am allowed to use a Pseudonym as my speaker name. I have reasons for keeping my real name off of my channel. I do this primarily to avoid potential legal snafus with my day job (contract/freelance developer and consultant). The pseudonym "Tensor Programming" is not a business name nor is it a collective of people (all videos are made by me alone). Would this be allowed or is this a problem? Not asking to use my channel name; just any pseudonym that isn't my full real name would be fine.

When adding a playlist with videos from multiple channels, the bot should fetch all the channels in the playlist and add to its active channel list.

I'm trying to filter videos by most recent, but I can't seem to do so.

If possible I'd like to help via PR, but otherwise if you have any insights about this it'd be appreciated.

I made several pull requests which were approved, I see those reflected in the contributors page. But no videos/channels/speakers are attributed for me, so no karma.
Why? And what't the correct what to contribute so that karma is updated?

Using just 3 files for channels/speakers/tags will not scale when dealing with external contributions:

• it will make merging conflicts difficult
• it makes converting content from external sources (example list of URLs from a conference) a bit more difficult

Instead those 3 files could be split in 3 directories with one entry per file.

Also some tools should be available to detect invalid entries (JSON schema validation?) and duplicates.

Why it should be removed:

First I was amazed by the fact that there's 1 video in my local language, knowing I come from a country in which the IT sector is extremely bad.

Then I've watched it, and it turned out to be a 90 sec report from one of our public broadcastors about a conference outside my country.

Looking at the channels.yml, it seems like it got there because all videos from WeAreDevelopers YouTube channel, but I really think that this video doesn't contribute anything to any developer. It's just a report about a conference outside of the country because the organizers are apparently of Bosnian origin (stated in the video).

On a final note, the channel says that the conference was "featured on Bosnian national TV", which is just wrong. It is a public broadcaster, but not the national public broadcaster (that would be BHT, not FTV). This is a public broadcaster for the Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina, which covers ~50% of the territory of Bosnia & Herzegovina, other ~50% being covered by the third public broadcaster (RTRS).
