WiFi hotspot not working

I cannot find any WiFi with other devices when enabling the WiFi hotspot, it just doesn't appear. Using this release

Would it be possible to activate the ant+ hardware? According to the forum there is one, and detectable since the android 10 rom (AVN1.0.1B07)

Gapps install tutorial

Hi,

There are multiple bits and pieces, on how to install gapps, but there is no "official" guide.

Did somebody succeed in installing Gapps to this ROM?
If so, can you make a step by step guide on, how to do it?

Can't control led color

The system does not honor the color definition for led color for notifications. Also, I seem to be able to define exception rules for LEDs in settings. I don't see anything in logcat when doing so

( Note: i compiled the rom myself, if this makes a difference. In the meantime i switched to the precompiled rom, same thing)

Support for Fairphone 3 plus

I currently have the ROM running on my FP3+, without support for the new camera and speaker modules.

Apart from the obvious issues of not being able to use the camera and speaker this manifests itself by freezing the OS when attempting to receive or make a call, even when using a bluetooth headset.

Settings keeps stopping

Navigate to Settings - Security & location and select Location: The Settings application crashes.

If its not reproducible I will add Details as good as I can.

Very noisy pictures with com.android.camera2

Hey there,

I really don't know if this is a issue related to this project. So please excuse if this is the wrong place for this issue.

I finally received my FP3 and directly flashed this lineage port onto it and noticed that images are really noisy when captured with com.android.camera2 (see attachment) compared with my old nexus 5x. Obviously only in low-brightness environments.

Is this related to non-existing noise-reduction magic, some issues with the os or is just my hardware broken?

Bootloop before the new update

Hi everyone,

I've installed lineageos on m'y fairphone 3 few weeks ago and i'm very happy till now.
A new udpate appears today and saddly leads me to a boot loop. I had to factory reset thé phone to ends this loop and obviously I lost all my data.
My mistake was to not make a backup before update lineage but as the 2 last updates were successful and smooth I was confident.
The weird thing is that before the factory reset, phone finally boot and the new update seems correctly installed on the phone (exept all my data has been wiped !)
An idea of what kind of mistake I could made on that udpate?

Mounting /system in twrp does not work

I'm trying to install apps in zip format from twrp. This fails with unable to (un)mount system . Also, mounting from within twrp seems to not mount system as expected.
I don't know where this is a rom problem or twrp, but on FPOS this works.

(I built the rom myself, if this makes a difference)

Ear speaker not working during calls / only loudspeaker active

Thanks for this nearly perfect build, I just bought my FP3 thanks to your work and immediately flashed lineage_16_fp3_20200413. Everything works really smooth, except for the ear speaker. I already noticed your comment about that in the forums, but wanted to discuss this at this more structured place.

Calling somebody will automatically activate the loudspeaker, which cannot be turned off. The microphone is working fine at this point. Additionally it is possible to use a wired headset, this will turn off the loudspeaker just as expected and works without problems.

How to verify slot A/B is installed correctly?

What would be a good way to check whether both slot A and B are flashed with the correct image? Do I 'just' boot into TWRP, switch slots and try to boot the device? If not, what would be the correct procedure?

Release cycle?

Amazing work so far! I've got my FP3 up and running, and I ran into some things I have some questions about.

First of all, what is the release cycle for this build? Are you following LOS' cycle or is it with a different frequency?

Related, what is the current status of official LOS support? I thought I read somewhere you are working to get this build adopted by the project.

A home for proprietary blobs

Hi Max,
I have two related issues:

Where can we store and maybe even version-control all the proprietary blobs needed for FP3? I vaguely remember someone writing that one of the Github repos in WeAreFairphone might serve for that purpose, but I do not see evidence of anyone doing this - it might cause legal problems as well. I suppose we should simply document the source location and process of extraction?
Where and how did you get the vendor files for the 0111 update? Was it something like this location? I would like to create or recreate a full update zip, just like we have now for 0110 and examine any changes to vendor files. If nothing bad pops up, then I suppose it is worthwhile to update the README file with instructions for using 0111 and tag our device tree repo with something like FP3_RELEASE_0111.

Phone works with speaker or headphones only

When getting a call the phone starts with speaker active, which can only be disabled plugging in a headphone. I can't disable the speaker holding the phone to my ear or clicking the speaker button ( repeatedly)

NFC cannot be enabled again

Hi there,

After flashing the first unofficial release, I immediately disabled NFC because most of the time I just don't need it. But then I wanted to enable it again, just for the sake of testing it. The switch button remained stuck and "Android Beam" feature was not made available.

If you need some adb logcat on this one, I can provide it in the next couple of days.

Inactivitydisplay (?) not getting raised event

The display does not get activated when the phone is raised. If taken out of the pocket it works. ( Don't know the name in English, it's "Inaktivitätsdisplay ")

Flashing with TWRP doesn't work

Most things look quite fine here, except the postinstall stuff. However I guess this is only important for ota updates and not for initial installation.
However after reboot it bootloader seems to fail, automatically switches slot and reboots again. When booting the boot.img with fastboot I get the same error as I got when one of the slot's success flag is "No":
