ActiveAdmin::HstoreEditor

"hstore_input" field type to active_admin that allow to edit Postgresql hstore values as json tree. Data shown by using jsoneditor.js from http://jsoneditoronline.org

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'activeadmin_hstore_editor'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install activeadmin_hstore_editor

Include styles in "active_admin" initializer

config.register_stylesheet 'active_admin/hstore_editor.css'

Include javascripts in "active_admin" initializer

config.register_javascript 'active_admin/hstore_editor.js'

Usage

This Gem provides you formtastic input called :hstore to edit hstore data and parse form data for store it

ActiveAdmin.register User do
  permit_params :settings

  hstore_editor

  # specify the type does not necessarily
  form do |f|
    f.inputs do
      f.input :settings, as: :hstore
    end

    f.actions
  end
end

JSON support?

Seems like this could support the Postgres JSON column type as well. Any idea what would go into supporting this?

It can't be installed with bundle

Undefined method 'assets' when loading the application

On Rails 3.2.21 I got:

Uncaught exception: There was an error while trying to load the gem 'activeadmin_hstore_editor'.
Gem Load Error is: undefined method `assets' for #<Rails::Engine::Configuration:0x007fa71b32d718>

Changing this line to an initializer, helps (think it is better to extract this to a separate initializer):

      initializer :active_admin_hstore_editor, :group => :all do |app|
        app.config.assets.precompile += %w[img/jsoneditor-icons.png]
      end

Besides, registering the javascript and stylesheets in the ActiveAdmin initializer doesn't properly load at least he stylesheets - had to require them as earlier, as usual.

When edit an already existing value I got an exception

I am using "activeadmin (1.0.0.pre)"

This is the store value:
{"a": "b", "b": [1,2]}

This is the exception I got when I want to edit the record.

I implemented this gem on an existing product. The forms were working. When I followed your readme it looks like this. http://i.imgur.com/ntGSfAj.png.

Editing a record doesn't show the structure as it was when creating it

I have some defaults key value pairs when creating a new record and objects nested into other objects.

Can't say it's an issue, but can someone advise on how to make it work in edit mode?

Webpack installation

I would like to use this gem with webpack in rails 6. Any ideas on how to load the JS and CSS files?

Failed to load jsoneditor-icons.png in Rails production enviroment

Hi, you've made a great tool.
I've got a problem with loading http://xxxxx.yyy.com/assets/img/jsoneditor-icons.png in production environment (the browser console). In a Rails development environment everything works fine. I've tried some config changes in the production environment but without any result.

Hi, i have some issue with jsoneditor-icons.png on production.

rails 4.1.5
activeadmin 1.0.0.pre (current from gem 'activeadmin', github: 'activeadmin')
activeadmin_hstore_editor 0.0.4
config.assets.precompile += %w(*.png *.jpg *.jpeg *.gif) didn't help

assets do not load

installed as per readme, appears to work (render and post)
but the javascript/style assets for the jsoneditor do not load so the form input is a plain text area like this:

markup for the textarea appears to be correct:

No errors but the assets do not make it to the browser

can you assist?

my environment:

Mac OSX 10.9.3
mri 2.1.2p95
rails 4.1.0
active_admin (git://github.com/gregbell/active_admin.git) -> lasted HEAD from git
activeadmin_hstore_editor (0.0.2)

Rails 5 support

Would be awesome. Now it has conflicts:

rails (~> 5.1.1) was resolved to 5.1.1, which depends on
      railties (= 5.1.1)

activeadmin_hstore_editor was resolved to 0.0.1, which depends on
      railties (< 5.0, >= 3.0)

Breaks file uploads by setting enctype to 'application/json'

As the title says. Is there any quick fix for this?
