example-token-bridge-ui's Issues

Create issue templates in example-token-bridge-ui

Description and context

Standardize task description formats and add more task types to be used by the GH UI, similar to the templates in the main repo

  • Add bug type template
  • Add task type template
  • Add Discord link to issue creation screen
  • Disable blank issue creation

Definition of done

  • New templates and Discord link available on the issue creation screen

Use the SDK for address contstants

There's a lot of hard coded addresses in the consts file with core and token bridge addresses that are now provided by the SDK. Would be good to have a cleaner way to use those.

Feature request — allow user to customize RPC URLs

Description and context

Public chain RPCs can be quite unreliable, especially on testnet. Currently, if the RPC that is hardcoded into the UI is down, the UI shows incorrect information and users cannot perform any actions. It would be really helpful to add an "advanced settings" context where the user can set a custom RPC URL to use.

Definition of done

Feature implemented and released.

Fix or remove Covalent / add a token list

The covalent related code likely doesn't work correctly in the current testnet environment (and the key isn't set in the current deploy). Either the chains which covalent supports for testnet should be used and the rest appropriately omitted from querying, or Covalent support should just be omitted. It might be nicer to have a dedicated set of supported tokens for testnet and devnet anyway.

add backpack wallet

The option can be found in the latest version of the solana wallet adapter package.

XPLA chain support

XPLA has been added to the Wormhole testnet. It should be supported here 🙃

Toggle switch for devnet / testnet

The current code uses a build-time variable to switch between devnet and testnet. It would be nice to provide a dropdown somewhere to switch between the two live so that folks with a local setup don't have to build their own copy of the UI.

Can I use JavaScript SDK to receive and send tokens via different networks?

Hello:
I am new to wormhole, I have some experience with JavaScript (Node.js).
I want to know if I can use this repo to receive some tokens via one network, then after paying gas fees, send the received tokens to another address via different network.
Here is one example:
I have one wallet with an address (I have an Exodus wallet), which I can receive USDT via Solana network, then after I receive the USDT, I want to send the received USDT to another address (out of my wallet) via ERC20 or BEP20 network.
First, let me know if it is possible to do this by the repo, if yes, please share some JavaScript (node) code.
Second, I can get gas fees from EtherScan with API, but I want to know how to use the gas fees for sending the tokens to another address.
Finally, before I use the code in main net. I want to do some practice in test net.
I know where can I get some free faucet ETH test net.
But I need some faucet Solana test net, so I can get some free tokens from Solana test net to begin my testing.
How many different tokens are supported? I see in my Exodus wallet, there many (100+) tokens, Exodus wallet can even import new tokens if you know its contract address.
If the tokens I want to receive or transfer is not in the list, at least not the native token, how can I import them via JavaScript?
I am using Windows 10 PRO, I have experience with Node.js (version 19.2.0)
I have read the document from “Wormhole Development Book”, but for me, the book is overkill, I don’t need most of those stuff from the book, I need only able to receive and sent tokens cross networks.
Please advise,
Thanks,
