Hello,
I was testing your library, it seems like records like this are not being parsed:

mail 14400 IN CNAME example.com.

The problem lies in domain name which is not @ or ends with a dot.

Seems like the problem is not specifying $ORIGIN in the zone file. By default bind uses filename (zone name) as $ORIGIN.
Do you have any ideas to overcome this?

I would like to use this library in a project (and have fixes to submit upstream for support of many more kinds of records) but I cannot do that until and unless a license is added.
