The WICG Shape Detection specification provides access from the Web to the native platform's capabilities to detect shapes in moving or still images. The shapes can be e.g. 1- or 2-D barcodes, text or human faces.
This polyfill bridges the gaps among browsers and platforms since not all provide the same capabilities.
If you run the demo on windows 10 with Experimental Web Platform features enabled, rather than getting the polyfill, or natively scanning the QR code, it will just give the error that barcodes (QR codes) are not supported on this platform.
detection failed: NotSupportedError: Barcode Detection not implemented.
Perhaps using getSupportedFormats() to selectively load the polyfill if desired features are not supported?
Not saying it's better, but it looks more responsibly maintained.
I'm sorry for leaving a support-question here, but I've stumbled upon this line and did not find a default method in version 1.0.0 of the qrcode-reader.
So why not creating a new instance with new QrCode() - or what important thing am I missing here?
The demo is currently broken, probably because the repository owner name has changed (miguelao => yellowdoge).
