Could you confirm whether you experience this issue when not behind a proxy? I haven't been able to reproduce it.

I issued the problem because I was redirected to an error page: I was not allowed to contact the registry (because of the proxy).
Therefore each time there is some redirect due to proxy, intranet, etc I think the problem would occur.
Just putting the JSON.parse() in a try/catch block and throwing a more verbose error, would give a better feedback to the user?
