if you type text and press enter for a newline, continue typing and then try to delete the text with backspace you get stuck at the beginning of the new line. But it is possible to move the cursor back with the left arrow key. now the backspace works across this newline.

I have an application with a bootstrap modal that Up/Down arrows doesn't work with Rich TextArea.

I'm using the last chrome version.

Do you known anything about this?

Is there a good way to convert the plain text version back into a tagged version?

When inserting a space:

$rich_textarea.rich_textarea('insertObject', ' ');

an error is thrown.

When I got the value like this

[o=pirate3] [o=tag2]

How can I tell which id belongs to user, which belongs to tag.

How would it be possible to load tags or mentions from an external data source (php-json) instead of hard coding them in the source? Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. And thank you for all your work on this plugin!

I noticed that you can call

$( '#RICH_TEXTAREA' ).rich_textarea( 'insertObject', '<span class="ui-button ui-state-default ui-widget ui-corner-all ui-button-text-only">'tag1'</span>' );

to insert tag-like text into the textarea. But, it's not an actual text object. I am a bit confused on how to insert a tag with a method call (without char triggering) and didn't find any documentation on this. Is this possible to do?

Implement a placeholder text feature akin to the standard html5 input element placeholder.

To reproduce:

• enter some text in a rich textarea.
• select the test
• paste a link over the selected text.
