path.Base does not honor the Windows path separator. The solution is to use filepath.Base instead.

Update with the correct URL.

The current implementation is a bit janky.

Release archives don't include the .git subdirectory, which is a dependency of config.mk. The build succeeds in spite of the fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git error message. Alas, -version reports 1.0.0+ (note the missing git commit hash).

Configure Travis CI.

Add shields for Travis and supported platforms.

Output produced when the -verbose flag is passed on the command line goes to stderr and is incompatible with xargs. Change it so that verbose output is compatible with xargs.

What, no tests? For shame!

The -no-color flag does not work as expected. This is because I decided to be clever and define some handy Fprintf constants. Unfortunately, since they are defined prior to the flag.Parse() invocation, they always run in color, even when -no-color is specified.

While it used to be true that verbose output was sent to stderr, that is no longer the case. The documentation should be updated to reflect the truth.
