How to compile?

How do I compile this mod so I have a .jar file? I tried gradlew build and got this error:

* What went wrong:
An exception occurred applying plugin request [id: 'fabric-loom', version: '0.12-SNAPSHOT']
> Failed to apply plugin 'fabric-loom'.
   > You are using an outdated version of Java (8). Java 17 or higher is required.

[BUG] Witch arms rotation is cursed

Version

  • I am using the latest version of CEM

Describe the bug

The witch arms rotation matches Blockbench behaviour but not Optifine when the default Blockbench animation is applied.
When no animation is applied, the Optifine model appears to have two sets of arms, which if you ask me seems very cursed, and the CEM model appears to apply the rotation to the same set of arms twice.

Expected behavior

In terms of Optifine parity, I would expect there to be extra arms? I'm not sure because personally I think the blockbench version is the most correct, but it doesn't match Optifine.
Perhaps the best course of action would be Blockbench parity because that is what people are using to actually create the resourcepacks and what makes the most logical sense to me, or a setting (within the mod or even better within the resourcepack) which allows the user/developer to choose what type of parity they would like, and it defaults to the Optifine version if not specified

[BUG] Fresh Animations Mobs Invisible with Latest Iris

Version

  • I am using the latest version of CEM

Describe the bug

Mobs appear to be invisible using your Fresh Animations CEM resource pack fork, and I imagine it's because this mod has to do with rendering stuff which Iris has changed

Expected behavior

The mobs shouldn't be invisible

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • Minecraft Version: 1.19.3

Additional context

Could be a problem with the resource pack but I imagine it's the mod itself

Change README.md to direct to the releases tab

To avoid confusion, it might be a good idea to change the text in the readme to link to the releases tab for this fork rather than the original Curseforge/Modrinth pages for the original, i.e. change
Check out [Modrinth](https://modrinth.com/mod/cem) page, the [CurseForge page](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/custom-entity-models-cem), or build it yourself

CEM Official Vs cemFork Config File

First, thank you for making this. Second, I had a lot of trouble setting it up with your FA fork. While trouble shooting I noticed some others with the same issues on curse forge and forums, users trying to use your fork saying animal heads were in the ground and bodies rotated etc. same issue as my issue. After a few days trouble shooting, removing possible conflicting mods and and configs, I discovered that since I had already used the official CEM mod, it had written the config file. That was the problem. After deleting the original config file and allowing your fork to generate a new one everything was fixed. Thought I would just let you know. Maybe this is an isolated issue, but since you made an official README.md of the FA fork, maybe this is something to include in the cemFork ReadMe. "Delete original CEM config file" Just trying to help.

CEM crashes on 1.19.3

1.19.3

  • [Y] I am using the latest version of CEM

Describe the bug

When I go to launch the game it crashes and brings up an error message about a missing field field_27709 during the mixin application process. Log is here and relevant errors begin at line 547

Expected behavior

I expected it to at least launch the game without crashing. I know it hasn't been updated since 1.19.3 came out so i was expecting some issues with the allay and such.

Screenshots

Desktop (please complete the following information):

Additional context

I am using the Quilt loader but the errors don't seem to have anything to do with quilt. I also do have the ETF and animatica mods installed.

Upload on CurseForge?

Hi, just quick question.

Can you maybe upload it on CurseForge? Otherwise you cant share it on the platfrom sadly :(

[BUG] issue

Version

  • [/] I am using the latest version of CEM

Describe the bug

Put simply, the horses, donkeys, mules, and sheep are all completely broken. I am not sure if it affects any other mobs currently.

Expected behavior

I expected the animals... to not look possessed?

Screenshots

Please post screenshots of what the model looks like in this mod and in Optifine

[Suggestion] Better description how to use for average users

Version

  • I am using the latest version of CEM

Describe the bug

I cannot get your mods to run (cemFork in conjunction with your Fresh-Animations-CEM-fork). As recommended I also went ahead and got entitytexturefeatures as well as animatica (though the latter is deactivated as it's not available for v1.19.3, yet).

Expected behavior

Start the game and enjoy new mob animations.

Screenshots

image

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Win 10 Pro
  • Java Version: Eclipse Adoptium/jdk-17.0.1.12
  • Minecraft Version: 1.19.3

Additional context

Considering there's no real description (not that I could identify one - the current "How to use") is extremely bare bones and to no use for me, I'd like to kindly ask for a slightly more detailed description on how to get things working, so the average Minecraft player has a better chance to either get it working themselves. Either that or be able to recognize their errors themselves.
Also, the linked discord to me looks like it's the discord for the original mod that you're modifying so I'm not 100% comfortable going to ask for help there when it's not their work I'm having troubles with.

Anyways, if you need help to write up a better "How to use" text after explaining it to me I'm absolutely willing to help you with that if needed.

EDIT: I guess I found the issue after finding your closed issue and also realising that the Fresh-Animations-CEM-fork needs to go into the resource pack folder instead of the mod folder. A vital piece of information.

As a solution to this issue I'd like to propose to add one sentence each readme.md to cemForm and Fresh-Animations-CEM-fork: "Put cemFork in your mod folder." and "Put Fresh-Animations-CEM-fork in your resource pack folder (also check this FAQ post." respectively.
Thanks for considering.
