Overview

The purpose of this project is to provide a platform for New Super Mario Bros. U custom code for modders with an extensive toolset and game API. We also have provided many code examples and premade patches for new modders to learn from and for people who would like to use them in their own mods. Additionally, it serves as a unification of multiple code projects in order to have a collection with everything. All credits linked at the bottom of this page.

Contributing

Create a new Pull Request on the designated page. We will review the PR and accept it if we feel that it meets our quality standard and design philosophy.
If you have discovered an issue or bug, create an issue instead (suggestions may also go on issues).

Building

This project is intended to be compiled with the Tachyon build system.
A setup guide may be found here.

Usage

To install Tsuru onto your game, simply use the Trailblazer patch file installer, and the latest patch available on the Tsuru releases page.
Keep in mind that currently this project targets version 1.3.0 of the standalone copy of New Super Mario Bros. U, but does maintain compatibility with the DLC as well. Support for the bundle will be coming soon but as of right now it is not our top priority.

Instant respawn doesn't work

Describe the bug
The instant respawn function doesn't do anything

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Set the 10th byte of ts_savedata.dat to 1
Die

Expected behavior
Getting booted to the level loading screen upon dead

Debug Viewer not rendering solid (blue) colliders

NSLU Luigi physics not being changed

Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.
Whenever you play NSLU with the DLC installed, the Luigi physics don't apply, as Luigi jumps the same height as Mario normally would, and crouch jumping doesn't play the flutter animation as examples.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Go to NSLU
Try to jump around, and you'll notice the physics would be the regular Mario physics

Expected behavior
The Luigi physics to apply, as it did in previous versions.

SARCLoader crashing

Crashes on loading screen even when the SARC level isn't corrupt. Untested on NSLU.

Fly Bones doesn't spawn child when killed

The Fly Bones actor doesn't spawn a child Dry Bones actor when killed.

ShapedCollider/RectCollider cause a crash when used by FakeActor in GoalPole mode

Likely an issue with ShapedCollider/RectCollider headers on this repo since it worked on NSMBU-Haxx.

Red/Blue Block and Switch Block inconsistencies

Describe the bug
The Red/Blue Block state does not always match that of the Switch Blocks themselves

To Reproduce
Simply place down a Red/Blue Block as red or blue and make sure it is different from the current Switch Block state.

Expected behavior
The colours of the Red/Blue block should always match with that of a Switch Block; if the Switch Block is blue then the red blocks should disappear and the blue blocks should appear, and vice versa
