i still find useful some information in the nex7 blog i quoted in the mentioned issue as most points from there still apply today. it could really be useful for first time users and save them time learning from their own mistakes. i don't understand why was classified as stale. it should belong at least to wiki if not to front page of zfsonlinux.org

I considered it stale because original issue is closed and that article needs to be updated too.

But I agree with original idea about useful page for newbies. We can create new appropriate issue with a prototype.
