Could you please check your reproduction? It seems incomplete - I can't find a MyComponent.tsx, so I don't know which queries are in that file.

Looking further at your example, I do believe though that this might be caused by the absence of a __typename field in the response.

Apollo Client doesn't know that the objects returned in those places are of type Modifier, so it can't apply the fragment. Could you add __typename: "Modifier" to those objects in your mock response?
