The actual bug is that Apostrophe isn't forcing a save before the refresh takes place. If you wait 5 seconds after using the trash button and then click refresh you will see the delete worked.
Of course I need to figure out why my unload handler isn't doing what it needs to do. Opening a separate ticket on that.
