conda activate flask    # get into the isolated environment
cd /folder of pier2.py/
export FLASK_APP=pier2.py   # just let shell know where to find pier.py, that's it

flask run   # in my computer, server will run on localhost and listen for connection on port 5000

localhost:5000/    # main page, then you can do the query
