When you say "combine", do you mean concat (ie. one video after another) or having more complex layout with the different videos? If it is just concat I would not recommend AE and nexrender for this as something like FFMPEG can do that relatively easily. If it is more complex layout, you will need to create that composition in AE first and the actual method depends on what the layout actually is.

I might be misunderstanding but is what you are trying to do is to replace a 1 hour long footage asset in a composition with a single shorter footage that loops? You can do that with standard asset replacement and set the layer in AE itself to loop. I'm not too familiar with the last part so you may need to look up how to loop a footage layer in AE (layer settings or expressions).

The more you can set up and working in AE, the easier it is to work with a nexrender pipeline, I often find.

Hey, sorry had a bit cooking on he weekend.

No, the 1-hour long footage is a placeholder.

I currently have a number of compositions: 'Clip 1' ... 'Clip 10'

Each of these compositions just has a single 'Clip' in it. I do know the length of each clip outside of After Effects (as I'm also using it as a data-type asset and to calculate startFrame and endFrame to limit rendering of the .aep to exactly the combined length of the clips.

What I want to do is to control the start of the Clips.

Say Clip 1 is 115000 frames long, It will automatically end there since the file has reached its end.
Clip 2 should now start at 115000 however, and I want nexrender to move the comp to that point (or the asset itself on the timeline)
