The illegalize word is getting out of the form on ubuntu 16.04- Firefox. Please check.

I've seen you've recently added the Donate via Patreon option on the site, and even though the costs are huge, there would be no real advantage between donators and non-donators of the site.

The way of doing it with less friction that I can think of (right now) is:

• The user enters website
• The user creates his GIF
• Option to donate is displayed, telling a watermark free version of it would be generated if a donation is made
• User donates
• The GIF URL would now return a GIF without watermark, permanently.

I know this is opensource (and those who know programming could do a watermark free version for himself), but most people won't do it for themselves, for most people, it could be easier to just donate a small amount for it.

You have a huge audience! If some 200 people donate an amount like 1 or 2 USD, even with PayPal and/or Patreon fees, you would be able to make this project hold itself.

So while #10 was being fixed I couldn't resist and made a clone using the sources here at https://customsticke.rs/ - it removes the Firebase dependency, to allow storing everything on a single server.

You don't seem to have a LICENSE file, so please let me know if you're fine with that. I can take it down quickly if you are not. :)

Anyway, since it's very ugly for now, I just did it to have it running ASAP, and I'm not even sure if I can keep it. Thus I could perhaps clean the changes up a bit and submit some patches later, if more people would be interested in running their own instances, for better redundancy. ;)

Will be nice to have plural support, actually everything says IS NOW ILEGAL , if you can make it detect plural words and replace the IS for ARE like "DOUBLE UNDERSCORES ARE NOW ILEGAL".

Would using a CDN like cloudflare help reduce your costs? Or DigitalOcean? Zeit? They have been known to help struggling viral projects like this stay afloat, such as jsperf.

Some gifs don't have watermarks and don't loop, presumably because they were generated before watermarks were added and the database never got reset.

Watermarks are the bane of my existence. Please consider removing the watermark from the gifs, or adding an option to disable them.

I think 10 characters is not enough. And it would be nice if we could put dashes and other special characters.

I feel the size of the gifs generated are rather large, and thus not suitable for most platforms. I have made a bot for telegram (you can find it here) and the gif size is 5 times larger than most gifs. I suggest a lossless compression of the gifs (gifsicle ports for python?) before pushing them to the cloud. That will both save you costs on Google Cloud Platform and make sharing the gifs easier. I wouldn't want to create a new service just to compress them before use. Great project by the way!
