blockside's Issues

Can't add a constructor to a class

There's a block for creating a class, but no way to add a constructor for the class.

If you try to add it manually, like this:
class Name {
constructor(name) {
}
}

It creates a 'method constructor' block and round trips to:
class Name{
methodconstructor(name){
}
}

Preserve comments

Be able to preserve comments on the js to blocks conversion and back.

Use expression as property name

Expressions must also be allowed as property name:

var expr = 'foo';

var obj = {
  baz: 'bar',
  set [expr](v) { this.baz = v; }
};

For statement does not accept initialization without var or let

Neil Fraser commented on a Blockly Google Group thread that this did not work:
var i;
for (i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
}

Don't forget that thanks to variable hoisting, this is equally valid JS:
for (i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
}
var i;

Or for that matter, so is dropping the var statement completely, creating a global.

Also, even if variable definitions are inside the init part, the demo still fails with this:

for (var i = 0, j = 0; i < 10; i++) {
}

How did you do Resizable Workspace?

++i != i++

var i = 0;
window.alert(i++);
window.alert(++i);

Slow code editor response on large js code

Maybe avoid translating on each character input when a js file is larger than a certain threshold, or use some heuristics to change the code to blocks translation on large code files.

Call defined named function

This does not work:
(function c(msg){console.log(msg)})("Hello")

This works (fixed bug #9):
(function(msg){console.log(msg)})("Hello")

split

The regular expression is quoted here:

foo.split(/\d/);

This fails to render anything.

'a1b2c'.split(/\d/);
