There are already scenes in the outputFormat. We can add a scene propery at the root level to select the one to start with.

It is allready in the .dae, so you just have to pass the information.
This said, it would be useful to have parameters to the converter to convert only a subset of a dae. One thing that is very useful is to extract a specific node, and its decendants, or a specific geometry. The converter will have to follow the dependencies.
I did that in the past as a xquery, so it is easy to do on the rest server before converting, but could be useful in the converter as well.

@RemiArnaud that makes the converter pretty complicated. I would put in on a much-later feature list.
Your scenario sounds like a job for Rest3D: an app has a complex scene database, presumably stored on a server. It makes a query and gets back the subset of the scene. Isn't this exactly what Rest3D is intended for?

Yes!

@pjcozzi
Scene is already in the output from the converter.
Without debating here about external reference to scenes as it is tracked here #37
and also since we have today
"scenes" : {
"scene0": {}
"scene1": {}
....
}
and
"scene" : "scene0"
Could we close this one by just specifying scenes
and scene
in the SPEC ?
