I found it. Check out how requests are intercepted and then the mock request is returned. In the linked bit of code, a new EventEmitter is instantiated and then ultimately returned. An EventEmitter doesn't quack like an http.ClientRequest completely, ergo problems like this will show up. IMHO a neutered version of http.ClientRequest should be returned instead.

I have a solution, but it may not be ideal. Is there a reason we're not returning a new OverriddenClientRequest this already, or were we just assuming that was the case?
