iterm2-imagetools's Introduction

Display images in iTerm2

This tool implements the iTerm2 image support as described here. It supports both local files as well as images loaded via http(s).

Be sure to install the latest version of iTerm2.

Installation

To install imgcat, you should have a recent version of Go (1.21+ at the time of writing this), and type:

go install github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgcat@latest

To install imgls, type:

go install github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgls@latest

The binaries then get installed into the $GOPATH/bin directory (or $HOME/go/bin if GOPATH is not set; see go help install), which you can add to your $PATH.

Is there any way to make imgls work with a pager like less?

imgcat and imgls cannot work on centos ?

how to set img before ~

Installation fails

I'm don't know golang and I'm stuck. I've installed go with homebrew and executing the install command leads to this error message.

➜  go install github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgls
can't load package: package github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgls: cannot find package "github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgls" in any of:
/usr/local/Cellar/go/1.6.2/libexec/src/github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgls (from $GOROOT)
($GOPATH not set)

What did I miss?

updated go installation method.

I recently tried this per the readme.

So I did this, and it worked.

GO111MODULE=on go install  github.com/olivere/iterm2-imagetools/cmd/imgcat@latest

feature request

It would be awesome if I can display the image of the url on the Internet. 👍
