@jhowarth immediate fix to this is to require omnibus to have been run on the node before we do anything
Long term fix is to search for a version of Ruby installed and using it instead of assuming embedded ruby. note: we should always find and use embedded ruby as the primary ruby if it is found.

@reset Ran into this one again on yesterday's bootstrap. Are we requiring people to run the omnibus installer before giving us the box? Or do we have to let everyone know that they need to do that after they get the box?

This is not the best long term solution, though. I'm going to re-title your ticket with a better description of the bug if you don't mind.
