android-btxfr's Issues

How to make btxfr to jar

I'm sorry to bother you with so tiny thing. But I can't find the way to make jar with your btxfr source. I will use it for running your sample with Android Studio. Please give me an advice.

Keep client and server sockets open?

Hi Simon,
I've been experimenting with using android-btxfr to simplify transferring data and commands between a Glass and another Android device. I've set up client and server apps respectively and have added functionality to pair devices. Using your file transfer app as an example, I'm loading the bluetooth config in my main application and am also using a service to handle commands and data. I'm able to send data from the client to the server and see activity in the console, but only the first time I try to send โ€” subsequent sends fail with a "socket closed" IOException being thrown by the incomingHandler of ClientThread.java. When I try to create new ClientThreads for subsequent messages, I end up getting null pointer exceptions (I've tried to tear down the thread first but it doesn't seem to make a difference). Is there a way to keep those sockets open, or a correct way to reopen them for new data?
Thanks!
Jeremy

could it be used for Wi-Fi P2P / Direct?

The docs mention that this library doesn't do the pairing logic. That being the case, how specific is it to Bluetooth? Could it be generalized a bit to run over Wi-Fi Direct as well, again leaving the pairing logic to the app?

Blog post link dead

I wanted to use this library but I can't dig into more details on how can I send specific type of data. I understand that this library was created a while ago, But maybe the author @simonguest can update the blog post link for more details.
