No idea how anyone can investigate this, but just for info:
Just over an hour ago I created https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/96448139 (with a comment of "More water above the Seph, from OS OpenData StreetView". Over an hour after that (about 6 minutes ago) somehow https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/96448724 was created with no changeset comment. Maybe there's a "start new changeset" shortcut somewhere that is getting invoked by mistake? That new changeset was created (with no changeset comment), but the previous one wasn't closed. It was run from the command prompt; no output appeared there.
Potlatch version Potlatch_3_Windows__2020_12_07 on Windows 10. It has happened a couple of times before, same version on same OS.
Interestingly, https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/884482106 and https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/884482107 were added within a minute of each other, and contain largely the same data. I didn't trace it twice; the nodes wouldn't have gone in exactly the same place if I had have done. They were created about half way through one editing session that lasted about 50 minutes - between #135 (comment) and #135 (comment) .
https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/95769581 is an example:
build null
created_by Potlatch
os Windows 7
version 3.0
(the OS wasn't actually Windows 7 but actually Ubuntu 18.04 running "wine64", though I guess that's hidden from Potlatch)
It is a bit confusing that this repository is a fork of https://github.com/openstreetmap/potlatch2, which lists https://git.openstreetmap.org/potlatch2.git/ as official together with OSM wiki but indicating in issues (1, 5, 9, 18, 19, 24) that this is the official one.
Please don"t forget to sync the Kab translation. We would like also consider the kab locale for the next release.
Thanks
I tried to run potlatch3 air on Arch Linux but I get error.
I installed adobe-air-sdk by wiki and extract the air file to /opt/airapps/potlatch3/
but when I running the command:
/opt/adobe-air-sdk/bin/adl /opt/airapps/potlatch3/META-INF/AIR/application.xml /opt/airapps/potlatch3/
I get error:
invalid application descriptor: Unknown namespace: http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/24.0
What the problem?
I zipped a bunch of gpx-files as mentioned in this link.
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Batch_Upload_of_GPX_(various_tools)
But when i try to load the trace in Potlatch 2 I can't see the trace. Potlatch is not showing any trace.
This is the trace.

Hi,
I have some questions, that other users may have. So can you please consider to improve the Readme file ?
Here are my questions:

Have a nice day ๐
If I run Potlatch3 and zoom to an area it'll ocasionally sit at "loading imagery" for a while and then display something like:
There was a problem loading the map data.
Please check your internet connection, or try zooming in.
Underneath the Esri imagery has loaded immediately, so it's not a general local network problem. I also don't see the same issue with P2 in Chrome (OSM data loads instantaneously) or JOSM (both run for the first time after P3). This is the Potlatch_3_Windows__2020_12_07 version of Potlatch 3 on Windows 10. I don't think it's a local Windows Firewall issue (turning that off for all networks has no effect).
Oddly after about 10 seconds if I move the map in P3 the data loads.
When editing this GPS file the GPX waypoints are shown, but the trace is not:
On the other hand, when the GPX file is downloaded and then read into Potlatch2, the GPX trace is shown:
This is applicable to both Potlatch2 and Potlatch3.
First things first - on Windows 10 Home, Potlatch_3_Windows__2020_12_07.zip "essentially just works", so thanks for that.
As mentioned at https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=808578#p808578 editing with remote control is a bit of a two-stage process - not sure if it's osm.org that's doing that or P3. Essentially I have to:
If instead I:
it does switch to P3, but moves P3 to where the osm.org map location currently is, not the selected track start position, and it also doesn't load the trace until you do "GPS / My Tracks / Load"
Obviously only a minor issue though - just a slightly different workflow.
Causes left-hand side of map to be unclickable until the window is resized, presumably because Flex thinks the graphical tag menu is visible.
Solution is possibly to implement the code from TagViewer.mxml -> formResizeHandler after the form has been created:
if (form.parent.width>0) form.maxWidth=form.parent.width;
A lot of background layer in Potlatch2 are not working anymore.
Some of them worked some time ago, but after checked today they are no longer available or no longer working.
Examples:
Bavaria (2m) and all Erlangen Luftbild - in Germany
all South Tyrol Orthofoto and South Tyrol Topomap - in Italy
Japan GSI ortho Imagery
a lot of backgrounds in UK - link
Geoimage.at MaxRes - in Austria. There was one working and one not working, but now is remaster only the non working in the list.
there can be a lot more.
for example the backgrounds from Poland, basemap.at and basemap.at Orthofoto in Austia and the background from the Philippines working.
I dont know if this is a error in the link, or if Potlatch2 is not compatible with the links or layer, but I think if one of them is working with Potlatch2, all of them should work, because on iD and Josm they are working.
(for comparison with #135 which is the non-CPU version)
Ubuntu 18.04, up to date.
KDE
Wine64 from Ubuntu itself not the Wine PPA
wine64 Potlatch.exe
https://map.atownsend.org.uk/tmp/backtrace_20201213_2106.txt
Not a huge amount to go on, but here goes anyway:
Ubuntu 18.04, up to date.
KDE
Wine64 from Ubuntu itself not the Wine PPA
wine64 ./Potlatch.exe
gives, after a significant amount of editing (about 50 mins, https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/95733633):
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x7bc4ece2 (thread 00fe), starting debugger...
00fe:err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x7bc4ece2
The GPX recording produced by my navigation app includes notes I enter as waypoints. However, when I open the trace with Potlatch 2's "Tasks" button, the tasks list is empty.
The note is stored in the <name>
tag, but Potlatch 2 does not consider this tag.
Please add the <name>
tag to the list of tags used for extracting task text.
