phylophun: A python package to download and manipulate files for phylogenetic analysis

Introduction

Performing phylogenetics requires the downloading and manipulation of several files. Downloading hundreds of GenBank and/or FASTA files from online can take a long time and doing one by one is almost impossible. Phylophun is a collection of python scripts that can be used to download and manipulate files in order for you to conduct phylogenetic analysis.

Installation

Install via pip

If you use pip you can install phylophun:

pip install phylophun

Usage

To run download GenBank or FASTA files using phylophun:

phylophun get_files example.gb
phylophun get_files example.fa
