Cannot fetch MQTT for a hosted instance of Teslamate about teslamate HOT 2 CLOSED

Thanks @WesSec , since posting that thread, I migrated my hosted TeslaMate back to local to be run alongside Home Assistant. I use TailScale to access the network cos my internet is CGNAT :(

Disclaimer beforehand: don't expose your services to the internet, basic auth can easily be bruteforced.

Check if you can connect to the mqtt server from teslamate by using mqtt explorer. If you can, you should be able to use home assistant too.

Then again, having these public services available is uneccessary, it's a much better practice to host it non-public and use a vpn/cloudflare tunnel to access the frontend from abroad. Most home assistant users already have an mqtt server hosted which you can leverage.
