Parks are quite diverse and while they usually contain trees, they also have large areas of grass, water, and possibly other features. Look at this quite common example - densely wooded areas are only a part of the park: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=48.14844&lon=11.51404&zoom=17

So I think that the vegetation in parks should be mapped by hand, and that we should not automatically assume that parks (or cemetery areas) are evenly covered in trees. I consider parks a "virtual", rather than physical, feature - not unlike landuse or place areas.
