Working in offline mode with --local and --syncLocal about update4j HOT 3 CLOSED

Most likely the files are outdated even from your local config.

Generally, the local config is useful after you successfully updated to be able to launch offline.

Originally I thought so too, but consider this. (The status on the download server is static.)

1. I go online, the application launches successfully without issues.
2. I go offline, the application crashes as above.
3. I go online, again it runs okay.
4. I go offline, it crashes again... etc repeatable ad libitum, goto 1.

It seems to me like there is another issue somewhere, but from what you are saying there is a discrepancy between the config used and the files? I might double-check everything, especially that the two local configs used are the same. (Will revisit the week of Feb 21.)

The issue was caused by a mismatch between the remote vs. local & launcher vs. bootstrap versions. (We maintain multiple streams differentiated by urls/folders of the download bucket.)

I am closing the issue, but as a feature candidate, it might be desirable to detect such problems and try to resolve inconsistencies gracefully before the classloader escalates to throwing ClassNotFoundExceptions around. :)
