Latest master is much advanced over the preview release, but hasn't been tested on anything else than Mac for a year. It's also not guaranteed that all sample projects are up-to-date and can be built. So I'd recomment solving problems in the preview release first.
So what errors and warning do you see exactly?

From what I can remember, it threw an error about a "Git executable" not being found. This was the first error I encountered. I tried making a sample project, but it said the files for the selected sample project couldn't be found. This applies to all four samples. Finally, when I downloaded the source code for the platformer sample project and opened the folder in VUEngine Studio, it had a big yellow exclamation mark (I think) and wouldn't open the main C file. It wouldn't compile anything. The compiler didn't throw any errors, but it just... did nothing.
