Slightly annoying as it shouldnt need to take the full dump. Normally, it takes the first section of the NAND which is used, and not the full shammy.
Just something I've come across 👍
For some odd reason, Picoflasher is having a REALLY hard time running and figuring out my Corona 16mb console. It repeatedly reads it as 4gb, occasionally it gets it right, but a majority of the time it just ends in a "System.TimeoutException" which isn't too detailed of an error... Is there any ways of fixing this?
Recently, I suffered from not recognizing PicoFlasher as serial port because of unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed).
I searched about this and found that some people reported this issue. but there are no proper solusions.
it might frequently occurred on clone of Raspberry Pi Pico, but I have genuine one.
i thought that it may a software issue and tried to build sources from this repository with latest version of depedencies.
finally, I successed to recognize my pico!, let's try my build!
Hi!
I have tried to “install” PicoFlasher on my new Raspberry Pi Pico 2 with RP2350 chip, but it doesn’t work. My local shop no longer has stock from the old Pico 1 with RP2040 chip. Are you planning to support this board too?
Thank you for your work!:)
Does this support the Raspberry Pi Pico W too?
Is pico flasher able to also program chips like the ACE v3 aswell? if not I'd like to know if this is something that could possibly be added as it would really be nice to eliminate the need entirely for programming equipment if we can also program those mod chips aswell as the xbox nand.
So i've been looking around for days, and i've recently just posted to reddit about this issue, that despite checking my wiring numerous times, having others assess my soldering, and flashing and reflashing the picoflasher software (version 2.0 and 3.0, with compatible jrunner versions that i have archived across both my desktop pc and my laptop), i am getting the error "0x00000000" console not found, with the green light on the pico toggling on and off everytime i try to query the console board type, as well as when i press "read NAND". After referring to a post on reddit from Octal450, i saw that when trying to setup everything in a specific order (connecting the pico, opening jrunner, then applying standby power, i yield the error "0xFFFFFFFF" instead, and i still get the phrase console not found. i haven't tried with a different picoflasher, as at the time i hadn't a lot of money to devote to my RGH project, perhaps there is anything you can look into regarding this? if you need me to provide anything, i gladly will
hello, could someone help me? i was trying to reuse my rpi pico but, after flashing it jrunner doesn't detect it, how did i do wrong? hold on bootsel button and plug rpi into the windows pc, after that copy the .utf2 file and it close automatically the window, i launch jrunner but it doesn't recognize my pico flasher as the first time. thanks for the answers
Ok update have had delivery of the 3rd pico and as before used it once to do a corona worked fine disconnected it went to do another and BOOOM no consul found as with both my other pico's ?? this has to be something with the Uf2 ?? because all other operations seem fine ie: can reflash UF2 file can flash other files all as normal , J-runner sees the pico no problems but will NOT read anything from any xbox just consul not found in the output screen of j-runner ! this needs to be looked at by someone with the skills to debug what is happening to these picos after 1-2 uses.
my corona 4gb is not being seen in j-runner
Would you help me? When I put Picoflash on Pi Pico, it disappears and does not install the COM port, do you know what could be happening? If I put another random file that I downloaded from the UF2 internet, it works and changes to the COM port, only with Picoflash that doesn't do this procedure.
Hi i was thinking is leaving picoflasher wired to the mobo and use as console normal (microUSB unplugged) safe for pico and console.
Dear balika011,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am reaching out to kindly request your assistance with modifying the PicoFlasher.UF2 file to ensure compatibility with a Raspberry Pi Pico clone, the YD-RP2040 by VCC-GND. I have attached the schematic and specifications of the YD-RP2040 for your reference.
Your expertise in this area is highly respected, and I believe your efforts would be invaluable in helping this project succeed. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward to your response and any guidance you may offer.
Best regards,
VCC-GND Studios’ YD-RP2040 has the following improvements over the Raspberry Pi Pico:
Added PWR power LED
The USB interface was changed to type-C USB
Added reset button to facilitate reset operation and firmware update operation
Added the USRkey user button (GPIO24)
Added RGB lights (GPIO23)
Change PICO’s W25Q16 to W25Q32 (4M) / W25Q64 (8M) / W25Q128 (16M)
So i kinda messed up some gpio points on my pico, so i had to change the pins and build the entire project from scratch. Maybe it would be useful in a future update to be able to change the points over something like serial.
having problems with falcon JRunner kicks saying picoflasher needs a update
jasper 100% fine with picoflasher
So over the last 2 days I decided to RGH 3 my xbox 360. I needed a PicoFlasher so I ordered one from Digikey last night and it arrived today. I hooked it up, stuck the u2f on the pico, and tried to read it in J-Runner. At first J-Runner couldnt find my console, so I decided to run it again. After that it said it was a 4GB Corona, which was not true, mines a Trinity. Anyways it tries to read the nand, errors out, then the light on my pico goes out, this was my big oh shit moment. So anyways I try re sticking pico flasher on there, but nothing happens when I hold down BOOTSEL and plug it in. I was using v3 of PicoFlasher, and as I said I've got a Trinity console. If you need to know, I did make 2 mistakes during the installation of the wires and everything. One was knocking off the capacitor next to PLL Bypass, but reddit said I should be fine. The other error was I accidentally ripped the pad off FT2V1, so I had to hook it up to DB2G3. Any guidance would be appreciated. I submitted an RMA to Digikey to see if I can get a new one, but any guidance in unbricking this one would be nice. Thanks!
Any port for the Raspberry Pi 4? I have one and i just want to save costs.
I have a problem with a Falcon 360 running the latest dashboard but NOT being found by J-runner and Pico flasher ? I have just done another exact same Falcon and all is well ? but this one just shows up as CONSUL NOT FOUND x000000 (or something like this) in the output of J-runner????
Anyone had this issue before any words of advise.
PS: solder joints are fine I am skilled in p.c.b soldering.
I tried several times, on several Corona v4 consoles, and it never worked, I changed the Pico and the wires and still without a solution, unfortunately the Corona v4 does not work, and if you read it with the SD Card it works correctly, I made the jumpers in the R2C6 and R2C7, I tried without too and still no solution.
Picoflasher 3.0
I dont know if this is an issue with the PicoFlasher or JRunner, but whenever NZXTCam Software is open (for use with NZXT coolers as I have a 280mm AIO) JRunner will report a "COM10 Port Access Denied" when trying to do anything that utilizes the PicoFlasher
I have a problem, the wiring is correct, and it recognizes the nand but cannot extract it.
Log:
Checking Console...

Is PicoFlasher support flash nand jasper?
Upon initially flashing picoflasher 3.0 to my Raspberry Pi Pico, it is detected by windows and J-runner correctly and I am able to use it as such.
The problem occurs once I've disconnected the pico and reconnect it to my computer.
When I plug it back in windows doesn't detect the device unless I enter it back into flashing mode to flash a different .uf2 file to it.
While I can work around this, by reflashing the firmware it is a pain to have to do it every time.
Important Information
Device: Raspberry Pi Pico
Firmware: PicoFlasher 3.0
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (Ver 21H1 OS Build 19043.1826)
Software: J-Runner with Extras 3.1.5b & J-Runner Pro v3.2.0
Edit: Quickly testing with PicoFlasher 2.0 this issue does not happen
J-Runner is able to identify the console, read the NAND twice and successfully compare them, and create XeLL. No problems.
When I go to Write XeLL, it fails immediately with an IO error, and advises me to disconnect and reconnect.
Once it's reconnected, I can identify and read NAND not problem, but it still fails on write.
It also fails the same way if I immediately try writing after connecting it.
I'm following this guide: https://xbox360hub.com/guides/rgh-3-guide/
Solder points are solid, I've checked and rechecked. I've done the RGH 3 wiring (with a 10k resistor) and NAND header wiring as described in the guide.
I've tried two separate Picos but they're identical. I've tried the V2 and V3 PicoFlasher firmware and there's no difference in behavior.
I don't know of any way to extract logs from the pico flasher but let me know if there's something that would be helpful and I'll do it.

Not sure if there are enough pins or how to convert the code if even possible, but I thought it would be cool to use one of these little things in place of the full-sized RP2040.
If there is a bad block in 16M, there is no prompt when writing.
So as described, I drag and drop the uf2 file from downloads to the pico and when it copies over it disconects and doesnt reconect. at all. even when I unplug it and replug it in it doesn't show up. I have to hold the button on it an then plug it in for it to show up again, but that means I have to put the file bac on the pico, again. Tried v2 as well, same thing. I do have the option to use windows 7 but I'd rather use Ubuntu 20.04 for this because it's much faster than my other pcs.
Help apreciated!
Hi all,
I am not having much look with applying the RGH3 MOD using a PICOFLASHER on XBOX 360 Trinity models.
I have managed to get my PICO flasher to detect and read the NAND on one console but was unable to mod the whole console due to pulling pad by accident well wiring up the RGH 3 setup, so i know my PICOFLAHER is working correctly.
My last 2 attempts have caused me to brick 2 consoles.
The first one I damaged well taking off the X clamp which pulled a capacitor pad.
The second, I am not sure what went wrong, I soldiered on the PICOFLASHER as shown in the diagram on the ~Weekend Modders website, my soldering iron was set to 300, and the PICOFLASHER detected on PC but was not able to read NAND or detect the Trinity XBOX.
Now the console only turns on with a green flashing light, has anyone had this happen to them and do you have a fix?
Any input or suggestions would be much appreciated?
I am just curious why this is made specifically for the Pico? Why would this not work on any ARM-based computer, like the Banana Pi? Isn't all you need some GPIO pins and SPI support? If someone knows, please explain.
Adding Xilinx glitch chip programming support would make the PicoFlasher a cheap, complete alternative for the JR Programmer and XFlasher. Is it possible?
Is it possible to use the original JRP V2 points as those are easier to solder too. If so what pin goes to what point
tried version 2 and 3
I have pico with usb type c and 16 mb of memory
I have to wait like 4 hours for it to show up so what should I do?
And when It does show up Win7 can't install driver software (I would assume this is normal but i could be wrong) Do I need the driver software?
As the title states. J-runner finds my console fine, even starts to read it, but it fails about 3 seconds in with a different error code each time.
I've tried literally everything I can think of, this NAND is also completely fine, I was using it this morning.
I've checked my wiring, I've checked, and double checked the wiring diagram, rgh3 is installed correctly, etc.
I'm really pulling at stings to find a reason as to why this would happen, so I thought I'd let yall know.
Any option to use more of the vacant GPIO pins to i.e. signal status [i.e. USB connected, COM port connected, reading, writing, ...]
I'd suggest just to pull pins 1,2, ... 7 or whatever high for those.
Let me know what you think about it...
Hi, was wondering how'd i build this. Do i just follow a basic pico C project guide or...
I use RGH 3.0 on several Xbox 360s, and I noticed that some Pico Flasher had compatibility problems, especially on 4GB consoles, so I started to notice that the TOSHIBA brand uses another form of communication that is not available on the Pico Flasher, for example all other brands you can read with 5 pads through an SD Card Reader or the Pico Flasher that uses the same 5 pad connection, but the TOSHIBA requires all 8 pads to be recognized in the JRUNNER, so if I take any SD CARD and put it only the 5 pads will not be recognized, and therefore the same error will occur on the Pico Flasher, only with 8 pins a reading is possible.
Dear developer, would it be possible to implement the other 3 pads for Pico Flasher programming or unfortunately in these cases is it necessary to use an SD CARD reader?
I have a Seeed XIAO RP2040 which appears to have all the pins needed for Trinity... It doesn't appear to work out of the box tho.
How to install PicoFlasher driver for windows 7?
It's what i have on hand.
If so, how to connect the wires?
Thank you.
Hey there,
I've used my Pico Flasher on two systems (a 4gb Corona and a Trinity), and it has worked great. But now, I am trying to use it for a third system (another 4gb Corona), and when I go to read the NAND in JRunner with Extras, I just get a "Console Not Found" error. I've tried this on another system (Another 4gb corona, the only other system I have around right now), and am getting the same error. It seems like another user here is having this issue as well but there seems to be no solution. I've checked my soldering several times as well as reflashed the pico a few times. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on? Thanks!
Here is the error code I get from J Runner

I've tried on two brand new Picos. The firmware uploads as it should and the PicoFlasher is visible in J-Runner. When I disconnect the Pico from the PC and reconnect, J-Runner no longer detects it.
When I install the version 2.0 firmware (following the same process), it works as expected.
reads nothing super well, but at the time of writing xell, it gives me the error that I put in the title. any solution, please
Hi there,
I have a Corona 4GB model 360 that I have been attempting to mod. I've used the most recent firmware for the PicoFlasher, version 3.0, and it initially seems to work as expected. However, upon the second read of the NAND, it quickly terminates, and spits out an error that the files do not match. I attempt to re-read the NAND, and the program spits out another error, saying that the PicoFlasher firmware is too old. Restarting J-Runner doesn't fix this issue, but reflashing the PicoFlasher firmware onto the Pi does, However, the process just happens all over again, with the NAND read failing, and the PicoFlasher version being marked as outdated.
I have tried both your J-Runner Pro (https://github.com/X360Tools/J-Runner-Pro) and Octal's J-Runner with Extras (https://github.com/Octal450/J-Runner-with-Extras/releases/tag/V3.1.5b). I have been following this guide in order to attempt an RGH3 on my Xbox: https://xbox360hub.com/rgh-3-guide/
I would appreciate any support you could give. Thank you.
