I tried this in a local windows vault:
This is inline: `=this.file.name`!
And it rendered the file name as expected; is there a sample vault you could share that replicates the issue?

hmmm odd
thats the obsidian where it wasn't working, however i realized that there was an update and that seems to have fixed it
not sure why it wasn't working before the update but i'll close this and reopen if the issue pops up again
