I am also interested to configure nginx to a dedicated ip.

We should expose this as an option. I checked opscode-omnibus as well, the repo that Chef 12 is based off of, and we don't expose it there either. I'm going to open an issue there and cross link it here, since the current focus is on Chef 12 at this point.
