Solution

So, the solution is rather simple and annoyingly situational. This behavior --- where the inline C++ code was rendered as if it were a dataview query --- only occurs when you wrap the inline code in parenthesis (as shown below):

Problematic syntax that causes the issue (parenthesis around inline code).

Syntax that preserves the intended inline code (no parenthesis).

Having resolved this irritation hours after posting this feature request, I hope it at least helps someone making a similar oversight. Knowing this gotcha has made it possible to toggle all of the Dataview features to enabled without issue for me.

Remember to analyze all factors and conditions present in an issue that make the syntax used special or otherwise different from normal use cases. Consider how special characters may imitate or resemble syntax used by plugins and other features of the platform.
