Technical documentation on mappings

Hi,

I know that documenting sofa is a hard work that is always in progress.

However, mappings are one of the tricky but most important features of the framework.

While I know about the general theory that we can find in the main paper about sofa, when I was looking for precise info, I ended up on these pages that are currently empty
https://www.sofa-framework.org/community/doc/main-principles/mapping-mechanism/
https://www.sofa-framework.org/community/doc/using-sofa/basic-components/mapping/

Do you think it could be possible to obtain a documentation on the different types of mappings (large list with some special names such as RigidMapping and RigidRigidMapping) and some details regarding their usage and the parameters they offer when adding them to a scene (transformation from global to local coordinates and other things ...)

Thanks

[Build-linux] GCC version should be increase

I tried compiling sofa on ubuntu 16.04 with gcc 4.8.5m but we encounter errors related to advance timer.
I think the "SOFA requires at least GCC 4.8 or Clang 3.4." should be updated.

For Sofa Framework library installation,

Is it better if add one more library- libmetis-dev?

I found out it is needed for it regarding the SparseLDLSolver.

Cheers,
